  • Talking To God…

    by Leon

This has been around for some time and it’s a real favourite of mine. It’s a conversation with God. It’s not real (or could be depending on your point of view) but it’s always food for thought and a good conversation starter. It’s a touch long but worth a read, enjoy.

How do we know he wasn’t really the devil? After all I have been told that the bible says the devil can assume a pleasing face so maybe he or she can appear as god, or the angel gabriel or a man on a train or a Jehovas witness.

Leon, you really blew your chance here. If, instead of presenting this as ‘food for thought’ you had declared it literally true - but with the twist that God had entrusted you with secret techniques to scale these evolutionary hights, to be disseminated to the worthy by way of books, tapes and intensive courses… hell, you could have been farting through silk for the rest of your life.

The best conversation with “god” I’ve ever read is the lyric of the song Dear God by XTC. Even better if listened to in the context of the song.

Dammit…just when you think you’ve got your spiritual journey on track…two gods show up at the same time to throw a spanner in the works!

sorry, dont know how to hotlink, but this is another conversation with god, written by the author of the Dilbert cartoons…definately interesting, i like the idea we are just starting out and have the capability to join the other, more fun and happening parts of the universe. for some reason, whenever i think about this possibility, i always go a bit star wars, and feel like the whole semitic religion argument thing will broil over into the universe, and were the beggining, but then i slap myself for being so stupid…definately the most interesting thing i have read today. thank you :)

I met the son of god once, in Cambridge. He was some wino on one of those motorised wheelchair quads things for old people. Kept shouting “I am the son of god”

I had no reason not to believe him. I had no reasoning at all, I was wasted myself. Still it was memorable.

A hefty thankyou to both Leon and Suckmychitterjuice for providing two thought provoking articles. Well played, sirs.
