Should whites be allowed to stay in Britain?

    by Rumbold at 9:48 PM

This is the question Mr. Liddle has us consider when he writes this extraordinary piece:

The first of an occasional series – those benefits of a multi-cultural Britain in full. Let me introduce you all to this human filth.

It could be an anomaly, of course. But it isn’t. The overwhelming majority of street crime, knife crime, gun crime, robbery and crimes of sexual violence in London is carried out by young men from the African-Caribbean community. Of course, in return, we have rap music, goat curry and a far more vibrant and diverse understanding of cultures which were once alien to us. For which, many thanks.

So, because a crime was committed by black people, no black person should be allowed into this country? Mr. Liddle argues that the “overwhelming majority” of crimes in London are committed by black people. Thankfully, Alex Massie and Charlotte Gore quickly dismember that notion. As Charlotte Gore points out, the majority of crime in London is committed by white people.

    Alex Massie on Rod:

My word! How daring! How delightfully refreshing to see someone trot out the kind of tired, stale prejudice you can find in thousands of boozers across the country! Or at any BNP meeting, for that matter.

    Charlotte Gore on Rod:

What makes the mind boggle though is that you might actually believe that this counts as a valid argument against multi-culturalism. Surely not… surely? You’re not that stupid are you?

Yes. Yes, I think you are.

Any stereotyping is wrong, as it reduces people to blocks, rather than treating them as individuals. To attempt to stereotype and get it hopelessly wrong is something else.

Where do they find these people?

    by Rumbold at 5:53 PM

A Conservative councillor in Kent is in trouble after he complained that too many candidates who wished to become the area’s MP had ‘foreign names’. Peter (a middle eastern name) Hobbins sent e-mails out bemoaning this:

Mr Hobbins, who stood unsuccessfully for the Tories at the 2001 election and was shortlisted for the London mayoral race, suggested he should change his name to ‘Petrado’ to succeed in the party. One email said: ‘I have been contacted by a Mr Dilon Gumraj and a Zerha Zaidi and others who are all on the approved Conservative Parliamentary Candidates list.

‘Not one of them has a ‘normal’ English name.

‘They want to be the PPCs for Orpington and asked me for my personal advice on how they would be the best candidates for the Orpington Constituency. My view? For Hell’s sake.‘Why are the Candidates Department so keen on these foreign names?!!!! Maybe I should change my name to something foreign – how does Petrado Indiano Hobbinso sound to you?!’

    The Conservatives have suspended him.

Founder of EDL linked to former neo-Nazis and terrorists

    by Rumbold at 9:55 PM

Richard Bartholomew reports that Paul Ray, the founder of the English Defence League (EDL), is now consorting with various unsavoury types:

“Paul Ray, originator of the English Defence League, has found a new friend: Nick Greger, the German former neo-Nazi who is now a close associate of the Northern Ireland Loyalist Johnny Adair. On Ray’s blog, he and Greger pose together with a t-shirt glorifying Loyalist terrorist organisations as part of a gallery announcing the launch of “The Ancient Order of Templar Knights”. Other pictures feature Greger’s Tanzanian wife (wearing a Johnny Adair t-shirt) and an unnamed black man who represents “Ghana” to match Ray’s “England” and Greger’s “Germany”. The two men also sport fresh matching Star of David tattoos on their wrists.”

Paul Ray seems to have left the EDL, but, according to Richard, might still control an offshoot of the main EDL. Mr. Ray’s associations, even if he is no longer the leader of the EDL, are another blow to the EDL’s attempts to portray themselves as an organisation only devoted to attacking Islamic extremism, not Muslims/non-whites in general.

The Du Beke non-apology (part 2)

    by Rumbold at 11:54 AM

Anton Du Beke has had another go at apologising, after his non-apology earlier this week. I don’t think he has managed it this time either. He starts off by reiterating his ‘apology’. Then he says that:

“I feel embarrassed, I feel stupid as well; a stupid thing to do, a stupid thing to say”

Once again, this doesn’t strike me as apologising. He is not actually saying what he said was wrong, merely that it was “stupid” (i.e. foolish) to do so ‘Foolish/stupid’ has quite a different meaning from ‘wrong’. It suggests an unwise action, but not necessarily an immoral one (e.g. “it was foolish of you to try and assassinate Robert Mugabe and free the Zimbabwean people armed only with an air rifle.”). Judging from his previous comments, Mr. Du Beke feels it was stupid because of all the fuss it caused.

Is the English Defence League reaching out to Hindus, Sikhs?

    by guest at 12:48 PM

    guest post by Philip Honour

It appears at the EDL are trying to bolster supporter numbers by reaching out to the UK Sikh and Hindu communities. According to their member’s forum and in a discussion titled “Piece of Advice”, member SUBXUK says:

If you genuinely are against Islamic extremists and you’re not BNP undercover, you will get Indian Sikh and Indian Hindus onto your side.
You need to protest in their communities with something like “Stop Islamophobia, But Stop Islamic Extremists

    He continues:

Or something like recognise Sikhs and Hindus, are different from Muslims… trust me they will come out in numbers, if you get in touch with the Sikh or Hindu Councils in the UK.

    The Du Beke non-apology

    by Rumbold at 11:48 AM

Sunny and others have argued that Anton Du Beke should not be sacked, because he apologised for the use of ‘Paki’, and because it wasn’t meant in a malicious way. I have some sympathy for the latter, but what most people seem to have missed is that Mr. Du Beke did not apologise. He issued a non-apology.

A non-apology is a device that came to prominence during the Blair years, when a minister or senior Labour figure had to resign. The non-apology does not contain any actual apology for the person’s behaviour, but rather expresses regret that others have been offended. Thus, as Peter Oborne put it, we were treated to the surreal sight of people resigning while confessing that they had done nothing wrong.

Let’s examine Mr. Du Beke’s words:

“I do not use racist language.”

i.e. I did nothing wrong, and ‘Paki’ is not racist.

“I apologise unreservedly for any offence my actions might have caused.”

i.e. I’m sorry other people were offended.

Note that there is no actual apology for saying ‘Paki’, merely an apology that others are offended by such language.

    Tim Ireland threatened by thugs

    by Rumbold at 9:59 PM

Blogger and friend of Pickled Politics Tim Ireland has been threatened with violence by a group that has been posting his home address all over the internet. As Richard Bartholomew points out, one of the members of the group e-mailed Tim, saying:

“I’m coming round to your house in the week. Fight or no fight?”

The anti-Muslim group calls itself the ‘Cheerleaders’, and seems to have connections with an associate of the disgraced ‘terror expert’ Glen Jenvey, the man who fabricated the ‘Jewish hit list’ story (background here). By posting his home address they not only expose Tim to their attacks but also to those who search for Tim Ireland and find the false accusations of paedophilia planted by Glen Jenvey when he was trying to discredit Tim.

    EDL rulers revealed

    by Rumbold at 8:58 PM

The BNP has discovered who is behind the English Defence League (EDL). I think we all knew who it was already though:

“BNP leader Nick Griffin has claimed that the English Defence League is being manipulated and directed by Zionists to create a race war on the streets of Britain. Trying to distance the BNP from any potential problem, Griffin and his deputy Simon Darby have set out in an audio message their position on the hooligan-based group…

“I’m going to spell it out,” his leader adds pompously. He goes on to pin the blame on those he considers responsible. “Spelling it out in simple terms, you look at the owners of the Daily Express, the Daily Star and their interests. This is a neo-con operation. This is a Zionist false flag operation, designed to create a real clash of civilisations right here on our streets between Islam and the rest of us.””

The Jews seem to control everything. Where do they find the time?

    Popular names non-story

    by Rumbold at 9:55 AM

The annual list of most popular boys’ and girls’ names has been released, and it seems that one name in particular has caused controversy by being left off the top ten list: Muhammad. This is because people spell it in a variety of different ways (Mohammad, Mahomet, etc.), the combined total of which would have placed Muhammad third. This should have sparked a minor debate amongst compilers and linguists about whether a name’s variants should be amalgamated in such a list (ONS practice is to keep the variants separate), but this being Muhammad, there was far more controversy.

Noted list compiler and statistician Douglas Murray felt the need to comment, while Max Hastings thought it necessary to write a long piece on it, and why it represented the beginning of the end:

“The Muslim population is now close to two million, over 3 per cent, and rising fast because Muslim families have more children than most of the rest of us, many of them named Mohammed or Muhammed…

Britain, two generations hence, threatens to become a mere camp site for 77 million people of many races, for whom this represents a mere place to sleep, eat and make money. To avert this, we must address a series of related challenges.”

Maybe it is right to have all the variants under a single heading. But that is not the reason for the fuss. This is another example of the non-story, in which something which shouldn’t make the news does because Muslims are involved. For those who doubt this, do you think there would be columnists in national newspapers writing about what the failure to amalgamate Ian/Iain in a list represents?

EHRC v BNP on all-white membership is an own-goal

    by Sunny at 2:25 AM

It’s occurred to other people as well, but I’m really annoyed now that the EHRC didn’t think through their case against the BNP because of it’s whites-only membership rules.

BNP must adapt membership rules or be crushed, says Nick Griffin. You see, he’s out-manoeuvred the EHRC. To his own party he can now say: ‘look guys, I’m sorry but the law is forcing us to change our membership policy‘, knowing that they would not have allowed it otherwise.

But Griffin knows there aren’t going to be that many ethnic minorities who’ll join the BNP. But changing the rules takes away the most obvious and potent symbols that the BNP remains a racist party. If the rules change and Griffin goes on television and declares that he’s not racist, merely standing up for British culture, what can journalists obviously point at to illustrate the party’s racism?

Sure, there are things we can probably point. But pointing out things he’s done in the past can easily be batted away. To the person considering voting for the BNP, the biggest source of stigma has been taken away. And you’re left with a party which is succeeding more and more daily in hiding its origins and true inclinations. This helps Griffin enormously and he knows it - which is why he’s embracing the change quickly. It’s a huge own-goal by the EHRC. Thanks guys.

    English Defence League leadership revealed

    by Rumbold at 9:26 PM

There has been a lot of discussion about the English Defence League, the far-right group with links to the BNP that caused trouble in Luton and Birmingham recently. The EDL has attempted to distance themselves from the BNP, but as this video shows, you can see why people make the connection.

The video is one of a three-part interview with the central command of the EDL, and has them talking about issues like this:

“The main speaker complains that his home town is being taken over by Muslims, who, he claims, have a birth rate of 10 children per family. He says that on occasions of one minute silences in the town “any Asians” will deliberately make noise, and that they yearly celebrate 9/11. He also objects to Muslims “infiltrating” the local council and government, and suggests that they make decisions to close down churches and turn them into mosques, and to ban St. George’s Day parades while allowing extremist events. Further, he alleges that the police arrested protestors from across all the local estates as a strategy in order to discourage further protests, and that the arrests were in the form of raids in which doors were smashed open.”

Why it is wrong to praise Enoch Powell

    by Rumbold at 2:21 PM

After his attack on the NHS, the Conservative MEP Daniel Hannan continues with his one-man quest to make the Tories look as bad as possible, by praising Enoch Powell (next week: why we shouldn’t name railway stations after victories over the French). Mr. Hannan claimed that Enoch Powell was one of his political influences because he was:

“Somebody who understood the importance of national democracy, who understood why you need to live in an independent country and what that meant, as well as being a free marketeer and a small-government Conservative.”

Mr. Hannan was not talking directly about immigration and race, and as Sunder Katwala points out, he has criticised Enoch Powell’s views on immigration in the past. Other politicians have lauded mass murderers and been excused. Yet he was still wrong to praise Enoch Powell, given the connotations surrounding him.

Any mention of Enoch Powell brings up bad memories for some, and understandably so. He was not some otherworldly academic absently quoting Virgil in a seminar. This was a deliberate message from a highly intelligent and articulate politician: that the rivers of blood would flow if Britain allowed too many non-white immigrants in. How many times have the words ‘Enoch was right’ been uttered? He felt that only white people could be British, even if in law non-whites could be born here or acquire citizenship. He was a racist who knew what he was saying and knew the effect in would have (though probably not the scale). He should not be anyone’s inspiration for understanding how to live in “an independent country”.

    Mixed-race step-families

    by Rumbold at 12:21 PM

Yasmin Alibhai-Brown has a thought-provoking article on the difficulties of racial identity that some feel when in a mixed-race step-family, and the racism experienced from all sides:

“Back in 1988, my Ugandan Asian husband unexpectedly went off with a young blonde, and her blondness made the betrayal all the harder to bear. It felt as if he was rejecting our cultural and inherited DNA. Our son was only 10 and still in shock when a blue-eyed Englishman came into my own life – came, in effect, to stay. Suddenly race didn’t matter. How self-serving we humans are. I was, at the time, a race-equality warrior of the GLC sort and my comrades were unforgiving. The personal had to be the political. “How you let your boy be raised by the enemy, eh? What you teachin’ him bout his self,” asked an Afro-Caribbean activist.”…

As racial self-identification becomes more important to a child – one way of expressing feelings of loss of the “real” parent perhaps – there can be a period of self-imposed distance from the step-parent even if that relationship has been sound and nurturing.

Glen Jenvey confesses to faking terror story

    by Rumbold at 3:31 PM

Glen Jenvey, the disgraced former ’security expert’ who lied about Muslims drawing up a hit list of prominent Jews, has now admitted what the rest of us long suspected: that he faked the offending comments himself (in a posting on Ummah.com):

“Brother i’m sorry for the Allan Sugar story plant. I’m retired now from spying on Muslims. I saw a chance to install fear back in Jews who were killing Muslims.I was wrong to use you and your site.If you need any thing to help you in any way in the name of Allah just ask.

But yes the Sun did not know who posted it.I say sorry to you from my heart. if you want show the police and get me arrested. but with the first ramadaam coming i want to clear my past sin’s before i start my fasting and pray.

    Far-right protests in Birmingham

    by Rumbold at 2:52 PM

Confused reports are emerging about protests in Birmingham between the English Defence League, opposed by Unite Against Fascism. The protests descended into violence, with riot police standing by. Two people were injured:

“Police arrested 33 people during a clash between anti-fascists and a right-wing group as the centre of Birmingham turned into a war zone yesterday. Terrified shoppers cowered in fear as a group came into violent contact with Unite Against Fascism marchers in a violent brawl that dominated the streets.”

The English Defence League is a shady group, which tried to distance itself from BNP in public, yet has links to the far-right group. The march had been planned for some time, and it seems that the people involved are anti-Muslim rather than being against all races and religions (or at least that is the image they wanted to portray).

The excellent Richard Bartholomew has more:

“The English Defence League had branded banners declaring their opposition to racism and rejection of the BNP (the name “Casuals United” was nowhere to be seen, and I see its website has now been renamed the “British Defence Leagues”); a BBC report shows the crowd singing the national anthem (as ever, first verse only), and chanting “Muslim bombers off our street”.

Other footage shows some more aggressive behaviour, in particular the “who are you?” football chant; however, there is nothing (so far at least) apparently comparable to the May protest in Luton, where Asian-owned shops were attacked and some protestors wore balaclavas, or the 4 July protest in Birmingham, which included the chant “Muslims out”. Photos from the protest (the Daily Mail has some from Reuters) show some apparent EDL protestors being attacked by what appear to be local Asians.”

Racial abuse in Luton and media reporting

    by Rumbold at 9:38 PM

Recently a coach carrying dozens of Sikhs caught fire in Luton. Luckily no-one was injured, as everyone got to safety before the fire really spread. As the coach burnt however, the Sikhs were subjected to racist taunting from white youths, who said “you Pakis go back to the burning bus.”

This is an utter disgrace of course. Yet it is the media reaction that I really want to focus on. The Indian newspapers are reporting it extensively, with the focus on the racist abuse. Apart from Dean Nelson’s Telegraph piece on the other hand, the main British newspapers have ignored it (as far as I can tell).

This in itself is not unreasonable. A story about a fire in which no one was injured and non-violent racial abuse isn’t a major story. Rather the way in which British media outlets (aside from the Telegraph) have approached the story is strange. The BBC website and Luton Today chronicled the case, but they the odd thing is that they both ignored the racial abuse angle and simply reported on the fire. The BBC website did include a small section on the racial abuse, but it was buried halfway in the accompanying video. Although I can only speak for myself, I suspect that plenty of people read the BBC website without watching the accompanying videos most of the times: one expects to have the entire story in the article itself.

I have e-mailed the BBC asking for clarification, so we shall see.

    The Glen Jenvey saga

    by Rumbold at 4:56 PM

(Much of this is background information)

In January of this year, the Sun alleged that extremist Muslims had drawn up a ‘hit-list’ of prominent British Jews, such as Alan Sugar, and were targeting them because of the Gaza conflict. This story relied on a comment that had been left on the forum ummah.com, in which the commenter, ‘Saladin1970′, called for:

“The names and addresses of Wealthy Zionist Jews can be found in the lists of sponsors and contributors of Zionist Charities… It would be beneficial to start compiling a list so that we can write polite letters reminding them of the injustices of israel and to stop supporting israel.”

What really set the pulses racing was a subsequent comment by another poster, ‘abuislam’, who named three British Jews and called for doorstop protests. ‘Security expert’ Glen Jenvey told the Sun at the time that “those listed should treat it very seriously. Expect a hate campaign and intimidation by 20 or 30 thugs.”

Terrorist found guilty (so let’s make some comparisons)

    by Rumbold at 5:11 PM

Neil Lewington, a neo-Nazi, has been found guilty of terrorism and explosive offenses:

“The neo-Nazi, who turned his bedroom into a bomb factory, was also trying to perfect tennis ball bombs which he could throw at the homes of Asians.”

He was caught by chance while travelling on a train:

” He was arrested at Lowestoft station in Suffolk on October 30 last year after abusing a female train conductor who challenged him. Lewington had been on his way to see a woman but after drinking and smoking on the train, he had urinated in public.

He was arrested for a public order offence when the train arrived at the station and his hold-all bag was searched. He was found to be carrying two firebombs which would have exploded when primed.”

Let there be no doubt that this man was a terrorist. He was planning to kill civilians he didn’t like, and would have done so if Lady Luck had not intervened. Whether he was part of a network or was working mostly on his own is still unclear. We know that neo-Nazi groups have become more active recently, and I suspect we shall learn more in time. But what this case can give us is a useful comparison with the way in which we deal with other terrorists and terrorist supporters.

The CSC’s BNP report is a farce

    by Sunny at 9:13 AM

So the oxymoronically named ‘Centre for Social Cohesion’ has published a report on the BNP (pdf), which Rumbold mentions below. It’s nice the British neo-cons are paying some attention to white-extremism but the report makes one glaring omission. Spotted it yet?

The report plenty of activity by the BNP on messageboards and blogs. It lists some vile comments made by BNP supporters and is rather obsessed by the gimp a.k.a. Lee Barnes. The report’s authors could also have spent their time better transcribing outrageous things Nick Griffin has said in speeches littered all over YouTube, rather than that of some anonymous commenters on random blogs. In fact I think Pickled Politics/eGov did a better job in attacking the BNP with our 85 questions directed at the BNP.

But that isn’t my main beef. What’s glaringly omitted from the report is an analysis of how the BNP has in recent years shifted its strategy from outright racism and anti-semitism to attacking Muslims and Islam generally. The report briefly mentions Muslims in the intro and lists some comments that include the word Muslim, but its conclusion doesn’t even mention anti-Muslim bigotry. It avoids the topic despite the fact Nick Griffin went on the record to say it was politically better for the BNP to focus on Muslims rather than Jews or racism.

Now, why would a report by the CSC avoid talking about the one subject that the BNP constantly campaigns on now? Why ignore it when it is repeatedly mentioned in its literature and by its supporters online (much more than other enemies)?

Even the other racists won’t play with them

    by Rumbold at 9:32 AM

The BNP have admitted to not having enough allies to form a bloc within the European Parliament. It would take a heart of stone not to laugh:

“As an “unattached” party outside a European political grouping, the BNP’s two MEPs will lose out on extra funding worth £1 million a year, will not get a party office or administrative staff, and will not possess the right to vote on the parliament’s main committees.

The parliament’s rules state that at least 25 MEPs from seven different member states are required to form a new bloc.”

And why were they unable to form this group?

“Mr Griffin, along with his colleague Andrew Brons, had been in talks with Hungary’s far-right Jobbik party; France’s National Front; Belgium’s Vlaams Belang and Ataka, the nationalist Bulgarian party.

Their plans to forge links with other parties, such as Italy’s Northern League, failed because other Right-wing groupings feared that the BNP’s controversial reputation would lead to isolation.”

So even parties that want to sink boatloads of immigrants or contain fascist paramilitaries think the BNP are a bit too racist.

Far-right militancy is now a real threat

    by Sunny at 1:54 PM

I’ve been talking about the rise of far-right militancy on this blog a few times, and yet the national media has barely made this into a story worth talking about in detail. This weekend the Sunday Times reported:

A network of suspected far-right extremists with access to 300 weapons and 80 bombs has been uncovered by counter-terrorism detectives.

Thirty-two people have been questioned in a police operation that raises the prospect of a right-wing bombing campaign against mosques. Police are said to have recovered a British National party membership card and other right-wing literature during a raid on the home of one suspect charged under the Terrorism Act.

This is really what the BNP are about. Despite all the media hype about how housing shortages has driven people to the BNP, now exposed as a lie (see Rumbold’s post below), what the right-wing press don’t want to talk about is that there are still large numbers of far-right nutters in this country who want any excuse to attack minorities.

The election of the BNP MEPs has only given legitimacy to the notion that it’s now acceptable to echo what the BNP is saying. Hence, the increasing activity of these people.
    Yesterday, the Guardian reported:

Scotland Yard’s counter-terrorism command fears that right-wing extremists will stage a deadly terrorist attack in Britain to try to stoke racial tensions, the Guardian has learned. Senior officers say it will be a “spectacular” that is designed to kill. The counter-terrorism unit has redeployed officers to increase its monitoring of the extreme right’s potential to stage attacks.

What we won’t see is a rash of columnists pointing out that the right-wing media has worked up these nutters into such a frenzy through their lies that they’re now willing to go out on killing sprees. What we are more likely to see are columnists solemnly claiming that increasing immigration has led to this extremism, so blame people coming into the country.

UK Hizb ut-Tahrir activist calls Taliban “brothers”

    by Sunny at 3:34 PM

I’ve been alerted to a video of a television discussion on the Iranian channel Press TV, where Taji Mustafa of the extremist group Hizb ut-Tahrir refers to the terrorist killers in Pakistan as “brothers”. See the video here (ffwd by 9min). He says:

Today, this action is on behalf of America. Today you have Pakistan - the sons of Pakistan in the army are turned against their brothers the sons of Pakistan, living in the tribal areas. [interrupted by Pakistan high commissioner] So this idea that a few thousand Taliban or whoever could threaten several hundred thousand, a several hundred thousand army, the seventh largest army in the world, could be overrun by a few thousand people in the tribal areas was a nonsense, and I think it was designed to get us to where we are today - to give in from pressure from America and get Pakistani fighting Pakistani.

There are of course the same militants who have been blowing up innocent people across Pakistan for months. These are the same people a Hizb ut-Tahrir activist in the UK calls “brothers”. Now we know his sympathy lies with terrorists.

There was also a good photo-journalism piece by Declan Walsh yesterday in the Guardian about people fleeing the Swat Valley. (hat tip: zakk)

    When racism is not racism

This is a guest post by Elliot Borges

The shocking attacks on Romanian immigrants in Northern Ireland this week have again raised the inexhaustibly contentious issue of immigration in 21st century Britain. The issue made me instantly think of Slavoj Zizek’s excellent book Violence, in which he propounds the thesis that such acts of violence with a clearly identifiable agent are generated by a hidden violence; namely the one which sustains our political and economic system.

Have a good think about the new Points Based System of immigration, which was launched last year. What is the official government line on the PBS? The introduction and application of the Points Based System of immigration to non-EEA nationals is apparently justified on the basis that because the UK is legally required not to close its borders to EU nationals, it has to apply stricter controls to immigrants from outside of Europe. Whether or not one agrees with the need for this type of immigration control, it is hard to contest that this is good law or indeed that it is not inconsistent with the principles of equality and non-discrimination that the government claims to abide by.

Holocaust museum shooter had links to BNP!

    by Sunny at 3:33 PM

About ten years ago Nick Griffin gave a prominent speech in the United States at a American Friends of the British National Party event. In fact you can watch the speech online, and he says in his speech:

There’s a difference between selling out your ideas and selling your ideas. And the BNP isn’t about selling out its ideas, but we are determined to sell them. Basically that means to use saleable words such as freedom, security, identity, democracy. Nobody can criticise them. Nobosy can come at you and attack you on those ideas - they are saleable. Perhaps one day, by being rather more subtle, once we’re in a position where we control the British broadcasting media, then perhaps one day the British people might change their mind and say ‘yes, every last one must go’. Perhaps they will one day. But if you hold that out as your sole aim to start with, you’re not going to get anywhere. So instead of talking about racial purity, we talk about identity.

So we know the BNP hide behind words like ‘identity’ in order to push racial purity - after all their leader admits it. Anyway, it now turns out that the white supremacist and Holocaust Museum terrorist - James von Brunn - attended those meetings too.
    The Washington Post reports:

Von Brunn sometimes spoke of having fought for the wrong side in World War II, Blodgett said, and the two men sometimes attended meetings in Arlington County of the American Friends of the British National Party, which raised funds for the British white supremacist group.

Blodgett said that von Brunn never spoke of violent action in their conversations but that “a lot of these people, when they get toward the end of life, they say they’ve wasted all these years hating, and they want to make a statement somehow.”

Still think there’s no link between the BNP and violence?

via Jerome Taylor at the Independent, who has more:

At the time the BNP were forging close links with a variety of US white supremacists and the party’s leader Nick Griffin remains close friends with powerful American neo-Nazis such as David Duke, a former Klu Klux Klan leader and Don Black, another KKK chap who went on to found Stormfront and was placed on the UK’s banned list two months ago.

According to the Post, Von Brunn and Blodgett would regularly attend meetings in Arlington County of the American Friends of the BNP, which raised funds for the British white supremacist group.

The American Friends was wound up by Coterill in 2001 after the Southern Poverty Law Centre, which investigates American white supremacists, started looking into its fundrasing - but the links between the BNP and their sympathisers stateside remain strong.

Remember, a picture of Nick Griffin speaking alongside former KKK leader David Duke was unearthed recently too. Of course, none of the mainstream broadcasting outlets - who are busy condemning people for throwing eggs at poor Nick Griffin - will raise any of thise. Doing research is too much work these days.
If anyone can find a picture of Griffin alongside Von Brunn I’ll treat you to lunch, I promise.
