I was washing his hair (actually he’s my grandson) and he started squirting conditioner into the bath water when I wasn’t looking. It was only after I realised he was trying to squirt it onto his hand but misjudged it totally.

I need to check myself especially when I am tired. Too many late nights.

It sounds similar to the housing stock transfer. Tell all the tenants that they’re going to get better housing and frighten them with tales of ‘can’t guarantee repairs’, ‘we’ve no money to do anything’ and so on. Basically don’t give people anything resembling a choice.

Thanks for your opinion, C. Yep I have many thoughts on the subject, tho I should declare my interest, I’m involved with the owners occupiers opposing the demolition. The thing that wasn’t reported in Saturday’s Evening Times pieces is that Sanctuary have taken every opportunity they can get to rip off the owners and to sideline them and not consult them. Personally from discussions I’ve had with others it seems like a very sneaky and roundabout way of overcoming the difficulties with the shortage of housing stock that have resulted from council tenants having the right to buy. The whole thing stinks if you ask me.

El cid – we always planned to go Figueras, but something always came up. Also to Cadaques, where I believe he was born. But something always came up, and so we never went.

I never been a fan of the painting you indicated, I think it’s popularity is due in part to its title.

Kismet – Jackson Brown, ‘Late for the Sky’. The cover was obviously Magritte inspired.

Very mixed feelings. The owner occupiers should have been consulted, I’m concerned that they are going to have great difficulty in buying new housing as I don’t imagine they’ll be offered much. There seem to be a lot of mixed reports about the state of the properties, so it’s hard to say whether or not demolition is the best course of action.

I suspect it’s just part of the ongoing yuppiefication of the city centre. I can’t see most of the tenants being rehoused in the city centre. I haven’t seen what they propose rebuilding in it’s place as yet. Any thoughts?

Dali, that reminds me — ever been to the Dali Museum in Figueras? Well worth going to — amazing how he stuffed that donkey into a piano.

I remember showing my kids around the Reina Sofia — Gris, Miro, Picasso, Dali… all the modern greats. And there was Guernica too for that wow factor. Shame I cut the tour short by nimbly distracting them with a quick and popular offer of burger & chips after I spotted the title of another Dali classic (it’s the ninth one down):
