I'll be studying over xmas - trying to do my CCNA early next year... spending a few nights at parents house and that's about as glam as it gets. :-(

Phew! some people on here seem to have far more glamorous lives than many of us. I am afraid all I am doing is.

1
Staying at my girlfreinds for a couple of days.

2
Do what I always do at Christmas. By a load of wild bird food and on Christmas and boxing day go out into the nearby fields and feed the birds. It's a good distraction.

Why do PP threads in late-December every year turn into "how a big globe-trotter-I-am" competitions?

"If you get the chance, hop down to downtown LA, where the Jewelry District, Fashion District and rest of the “Historic Downtown” area."

I say this because all of LA is not West LA'ish, as most people imagine. I was just down there in the aforementioned parts yesterday. If you want, you can even meet with the Desi folks that man the bazaar stalls in these districts. No manicured lawns here, I'm afraid.
************************

Sonia:

"plus in typical desi fashion - ive done more travelling in other parts of the world than in the part i come from."

Oh, thank god there is someone like me out there! I thought I was the only one who's done this :)

****************************

Nyrone:

"I’m probably gonna sidestep the issue of where I’m going for a holiday (draw your own conclusions!) by stating that my travel plans for the next 5 years include Peru, Venezuela, Egypt, Cananda, Iran and Japan. Having travelled quite extensively through Europe and Asia, I really want to visit the Middle East and the Americas. "

Damn, I've got a whole list of places that I need to go see. Egypt, Iran, and Samarkand (Baghdad used to be on the list, seeing that it was a gorgeous city architecturally, historically, and what not. It goes without saying that I'll just have to put that spot off my itenirary for the time being).

Middle East....such a huge, vast region! I'd recommend Morocco definately; Jordan also. Istanbul is a GORGEOUS city, I loved it. I would like to one day make it to Yemen and Oman.

"Sunny - didn’t “Desi I” advise you to take extra moisturiser to LA? She obviously didn’t realise this is a very dangerous thing to do when leaving through UK airports, specially for those TWA."

I didn't say for Sunny to bring it on his carry on luggage!

But now the winds have lapsed; we are all living well here in LA.

Sunny:

"As you may imagine, I’m writing this from sunny Los Angeles. I love this place - the people are really friendly, the weather is great and the side-streets are immaculately manicured."

Where have you been hanging around? :) West LA?

Kashid beach is actually half way between Alibag and Murud. Murud is a pre-dominantly Muslim town, they have a nice castle out there in sea. Alibag aslo does have a fortress that overlooks its seas, but ours pales in comparision to Murud.

As for the kashid beach, its a gr8 place. I like to got out threre in the middle of the night! Though on weekends ts a tourist trap... darn Mumbaikars!
