What a storm in a tea cup! The paps do this sort of thing to celebs every day, to get a rise and gain sensationalism. Why is this much different?
Not a huge scoop is it. And while the cameraman was a wanker and probably got his just deserts, I think the chap doing the narrative for this piece went a tad overboard with his comments about him being unemployable and hopefully homeless. Not to mention someone who is forced into male prostitution.
Surely these are precisely the sorts of aggressive, over the top sentiments that we decry of our illiberal enemies?
Storm in a teacup? It’s the 3 main TV stations in Australia all playing a role in demonising a Muslim man by showing a clip completely out of context in the prime time news. Those reporters aren’t that stupid that they don’t realise how it’s gonna look.
There are plenty of Muslims in Australia who think everyone is conspiring against them. But sometimes they have a point; the media pull lots of these kinds of shifty tricks. Recently a major newspaper reported on a “controversy” about a food item being made halal, a controversy that didn’t exist until they actually started it. Those F***RS. Major props to the guy who made this video – he is emblematic of the few against the many who peddle this kind of trash, and who have been peddling this kind of trash since 9/11. Shows how low the tolerance levels have sunk to. Thanks for reminding us muslims about this.
To the father in the video. I am very sorry that you were treated like that. He was totally rude to you. You asked politely many times to be left alone. Please know that not all Australians are like that reporter. I am a white 5th generation autralian woman and if I was there I would have stood up for you. You seemed a decent kind of man. The way you were treated was disgusting

The land that gave the world … Rupert Murdoch
That made for powerful and upsetting viewing.
