There was an article in Eastern eye last week which quoted an Asian in the area as saying that the Black newspaper the Voice had been responsible for inciting Blacks to attack Asian businesses. What the paper should have said was that its companion paper in the Ethnic Media group New Nation did exactly the same. There is no doubt that the Black press was an absolute disgrace in the matter with Ligali I think going as far as to say that even though the rumours might be unfounded there should still be a boycot of Asian businesses. I read the Black press every Monday and have not found an article which deals with what actually happened. They are certainly in denial.
