The NBPA is indeed a racist organisation because it is built on the twin ideas that:
1) all white people are racist
2) only white people can be racist
those ideas are in themselves racist. Any organisation that subscribes to them, from the NBPA to the Guardian newspaper, deserves to be bracketed with the BNP and subjected to public shaming.
The fact that this new website doesn’t recognise that means it is just preaching to the converted. It will do little to move public opinion.
He might want to update it, from scanning it briefly it looks like he hasn’t updated it since the BNP changed their membership policy. So he might want to do that for accuracy’s sake.
@ A.C. # 1 … Yawn ….
Why does A.C. get so exercised when the BNP are pointed out as racists? He’s pretending to be anti-racist but you can see it as clear as day that he sounds like one of those BNP goons.
Well done Sunny for ppointing this out.
What the hell is wrong with you Mixed Together.
We are aware of your agenda – and while I do think you have some valid points I believe the way you present them make them unpalatable to most of us.
Trying to band Guardian, NBPA etc etc together with BNP just does not make any sense to most of us.
Personally speaking I would love the day when there is not overt or covert racism in our country and until that day arrives it is important to challenge racism where we see it. Saying that I don’t think it is our business to go into people’s living room and start demanding that they allow their children to go and marry someone.
However, I would protest if I find an Asian parent trying to impose their archaic views violently or through mental torture and I have done so and I am sure there would be circumstances again where I would have to.
Adults in our society are free to marry whoever they choose to and I do not believe in this day and age society and family can stop anyone from marrying anyone provided those who are getting married actually have the guts. And the law would back them up.
So equating Guardian, NBPA etc etc with BNP is just hogwash. Especially when organisations such as BNP openly wish to violate all our rights based on their flawed ideology and embark on a journey to an apartheid britain. Come on Man – i hope you can see beyond your own parochial agenda.
The single biggest difficulty that MixTogether faces as an organisation is convincing people that racism exists within the Asian and other minority communities.
Can you see why the idea that only white people can be racist makes that an impossible task?
A lot of people do actually believe it, which means they don’t believe MixTogether’s message can actually be true. Until that thinking dies out, it’s fair to challenge it as much as to challenge the BNP.
The single biggest difficulty that MixTogether faces as an organisation is convincing people that racism exists within the Asian and other minority communities.
You’re an ignorant idiot. I’ve gone on Asian Network in the past and said that many Asians are racist and have even said it on Five Live in discussions around identity. In fact we said this years ago in our manifesto on the Guardian.
None of these times anyone tried to deny that.
The only person who thinks no one is convince by this is you – perhaps because your agenda is to push the view that Asians are highly racist and are primarily to blame for why more mixed marriages don’t take place. You have no real idea of what conversations take place in communities and all you do is come here to make wild accusations to make yourself feel better.
The only ones I have seen claiming that ‘only white people are racist’ are white racists trying to justify their racism … People are just that, regardless of where they originate from. You get twats and nincompoops in every society, sinners and saints, the principled and the prejudiced …
Miriam and Sunny, you are both clever people so it is disingenuous of you to pretend you don’t know what I’m talking about. For those who hold that ‘racism=prejudice+power’, only white people can be racist. You and I know that many senior figures in the race relations industry hold exactly that view: the Guardian’s Joseph Harker, Yasmin A-B, Ken Livingstone, Lee Jasper…
I point this out because it is part of the reason the BNP is getting a look in now (white people are rightly upset about being labelled the only racists) and also because it makes MixTogether’s task much harder.
You both understand what Im saying.
I used to think the BNP were racist but now that they’ve let a Sikh man join it seems they have changed their bad old ways and are ready to integrate so I’m happy to give them a chance. My granddaughter used to steal sweets and now she’s a happily married woman who goes to church regularly so you see we have to give everyone a chance. So I’ll reserve my judgement about the BNP until they change their Sikh policy because Sikhs carry knives
@ A.C. # 9 – Reiteration does not mean verification. Remember Galileo …
Just another boring, BNP bashing lefty website. How will it change the game?
The website points out how the BNP argues it is only racist if you accept that a number of other groups (like the British Board of Jewish Deputies) are as well.
It seems to me the BNP have a double-voice on how they relate to “non-Whites”.
On the one hand there is the (shall I say “alleged”?) claim of white supremacy.
On the other hand there is the claim to be protecting a beleaguered indigenous social group – therefore to be no more racist than any other organisation campaigning for equal rights.
Those in the BNP who are anti-racist (as in the second group) would oppose discrimination against any community. I’m sure the BBJD would do so – would the BNP?
There’s my answer.
A.C @1:
You got any references for that?

“Michael, a former long serving police officer, spent 30 years in the Metropolitan Police service, and as with all officers he was politically restricted from joining any political party at the time. Today he is an active Labour Party member in Lewisham…
In 1995 at a Race for Justice Conference he was one of the first serving police officers to make a leading statement that racism was endemic in the Metropolitan Police.”
i think that the bnp am racist if they think that muslims am going to leave this country thay can think again
