I was talking to Navin Chaudhury (dude with little pee pee from Teachers) about how British Asian actors should be quids in thanks to all this (Jimmy Mistry in MI:3 and Art Malik in True Lies spring to mind) to play terrorist against the colin ferrets of hollywood. Looks like poor old Alan Rickman and Dennis Hopper are out of a job. Though seeing as even Oliver Stone replaced a black rescuer with a white one in his 9/11 movie, I won’t be surprised if they just black up Bruce Willis.

But how the fuck these Asian actors are going to travel all the way to california to shoot is quite another matter

A little harsh, it isn’t Monarch’s fault the passengers reacted the way they did. They were hardly likely to tell the the majority of their customers to feck off. I doubt they really thought the men were terrorists, rather they wanted to get the flight on its way without causing a riot or losing money. I don’t think the ‘company values’ were substantially different from any other firm.

Whilst the actions of the passengers themselves was hardly admirable im skeptical anyone in the general population would have the courage of their convictions to stay on board with their children. Once people start to panic or become hysterical there really isn’t anything you can do.

Monarch did put them up for the night, then sent them packing to…manchester?!

    Some holiday

Fuck Monarch for not standing up to what’s clearly ridiculous. Cowardly cunts

The ‘aye-rab scumbag’ role isn’t exactly new. But yeah the ‘british aye-rab scumbag’ villain might be the new thing. The baddies are always cooler so meh.

I wonder if Monarch should be on the phone to Jerry Bruckheimer

‘For a million dollars you get Sanjeev Bhaskar to blow up our plane as long as our logo is visible’

In their situation i don’t think any action other than removing the people concerned and sending the flight on its way was realistic. It was easier for them to reschedule 2 tickets than 100. No airline would have acted differently.

I don’t ‘blame’ monarch for the way they acted, id hope they’d be able to see the situation for what it was and treat the two gentlemen concerned with a great deal of sympathy, and give some form of compensation.

Exactly! They always take the easy way out – it doesn’t make it right.

    It’s all the monarchy’s fault

    It’s history repeating itself

    Kismet, you make me laugh.

Kismet always makes me laugh! Kismet needs his own blog or event his own thread somewhere, just so we can head him and his random, but funny thoughts.

“Jewish man removed from airplane for praying

    CBC News

Some fellow passengers are questioning why an Orthodox Jewish man was removed from an Air Canada Jazz flight in Montreal last week for praying.”

You’d think the silly season was over…
