Another stark truth is that Pakistan is a very “beggy beggy” country and always seems to look for handouts from the Yanks. I wouldn't be surprised if the government over there try and stretch this shit out just to keep the money rolling.

The only people who support the americans in this is the pak government the people are against the yanks and i don't blame them after seeing what they did to iraq where the entire state and society is in turmoil due to the invasion.

Me, aligning myself with the Taleban! Have you gone bananas? My point was that these people will not be a pushover and seem deeply entrenched, despite umpteen years of the west's finest soldiers being out there, they seem to be as strong as ever.

The scared shitless people I was referring to were the common folk of Afghani/Pakistan. These fears are well founded I imagine.

What exactly is a staunch Muslim? The last time I heard the word staunch it was attached to the rather insane Reverend Iain Paisley. Now, he was staunch, and a complete idiot.

Let's be frank, The taleban have popular ground level support amongst Afghans and Pak Pastuns as well as staunch muslims in general. Plus many are scared shitless by them. They also have a good source of potential recruits and bollocks.

They're not going anywhere soon.

The Pakistan army has been forced to attack the so called Teleban by its pay masters, in the false hope that it will weaken the resistance in Afganistan to Western occupation. Since this assault began the attacks have increased. The Pakistan people may not like the Teleban, but they hate the Americans.
