And you thought the hard-left was crazy? Here is the latest ad by a right-wing American lobby group.
And there’s plenty more examples of right-wing nutjobs in America trying to paint Obama as Hitler or Stalin. A lot of this is driven by racism, especially since it ties closely with the Republican “birther” movement who refuse to believe Obama was born in America. I wonder if the far-left in the UK will also buy into that racism by equating Obama with Hitler too.

These days everyone becomes Hitler or a ‘fascist’ at some point. It’s insane.
I believe the tone of the article is that how can anybody be so absurd as to compare Barack “Change we can believe in” Hussain Obama to Hitler or Stalin….well at least in America there are a number of reasons.
In prudish S&M Britain where it is all smiles and cricket on the surface, it may seem absurd and extreme, but in America where they are a bit more “up front” such comparisons are not. Bush II was constantly compared to Hitler,

Auntie Ziona’s blog out of Golda’s Green constantly use to caricature Tzi Livni, the former Foreign minister, and PM of Israel as Hitler. http://azvas.blogspot.com/ certainly one wouldn’t describe the site as racist or extreme.
Also there is the issue of powerlessness in America, where for many alternative writers, and a growing number of Americans, the uniformity of the two governing parties is a source of extreme worry, frustration……and yes powerlessness. By depicting Bush II and Obama as caricatures of Hitler thus fulfills their need to describe the policies of the previous and present presidents in stark terms, whether in the form of dark satire or in serious earnest which they truly believe.
It would be unfair to call such comparisons as the work of “crazies”, but rather the work in the best tradition’s of satire………and radical thinking alternative writers in America would certainly be justified in depicting their leaders in such terms…..its a matter of opinion AND POLITICAL ACTIVISM. Though of course depicting a colored man as Hitler might seem in bad taste….with all the connotations.
Certainly Lyndon LaRoche is an “interesting” character whose articles I have read with an open mind, if only to gain an alternative perspectives on some pretty serious topics. I would not dismiss his thoughts and movement as that of “crazies” though I would certainly take issue with a whole range of his thoughts/ideas.

As to Obama being Hitler, or being depicted as Hitler………Obama is an articulate highly cosmopolitan Harvard educated lawyer…….whilst Hitler was a down and out corporal in Munich picked up by certain groups and leveraged and manipulated into power as their fronts (bankers) ……..well in relation to Iraq Obama seems to be fudging, where he formerly promised to bring the troops back home and leave the Iraqis to run their affairs finally.
In relation to Afghanistan he seems to be upping the ante with 21,000 more troops to make sure the Afghan Opium/Heroin is properly harvested and shipped via Kosovo/Alabania into Europe and North America……………whilst killing a lot of innocent Afghan civilians along this solemn process; wasting the American taxpayers money, and the lives of American servicemen.
In the domestic arena there is no clear indication yet that the range of Gestapo laws introduced by Bush II will be rolled back under his term.
In that “broad sense” whether as black humor, or in reality……where Obama is seen as yet another front for the bankers of Wall Street……he is thus depicted as another Hitler/Stalin.
In the alternative blogesphere both Hitler/Stalin are believed to be puppets of the bankers……and so too is Obama.

The extensive narrative on Lydon LaRoache is not meant as an outright approval of his beliefs, which in many respects are “unique”, but is an attempt at an explanation as to why an octagenarian who is highly educated, with a following in the USA, holding often what may be termed left-wing views would resort to such stark portrayal of a serving American President, who is coloured, and from the Democratic Party.
In doing so Don, we might get to understand American politics a little bit more, even from the perspective of the alternative scene.
We must not be so basic as to interpret things literally.
