The irony is that if an Islamist said it is “controversial” to teach women that being beaten is not acceptable, there would be an outcry by the same people who are now saying that.

The Daily Heil is famous for this hypocrisy. I recall them doing a front page article about the evil Iranian regime hanging drug dealers. Of course inside the pages was condemntaion of some judges for being soft on dealers in the UK. Its like their xenophobia and prejudice trumps what they believe is right every time

This is despite evidence showing that boys and young men are more than twice as likely to fall victim to violence, and that young women are becoming increasingly aggressive.

Both are true – young men are more likely than anyone to become involved in violence in any capacity and there has been an increase in violence by young women. But that has no relevance to the proposed initiative to reduce domestic violence, nor are these young men, for the most part, being victimised by women.

With regards them depicting teaching boys not to beat up girls as some kind of feminist agenda….are you really surprised, we are talking the Mail here.

Children should be taught that domestic violence is wrong. Always wrong. Explicitly, unequivocally and early on. Full-stop.

The fact that society is so broken that schools have to teach the idea that it is wrong to use violence against another person is a damning indictment of where we are.

The impression that violence is all one way is something that should be corrected. Men attack women, women attack men, men attack men, women attack women. It is not a matter that all men bad, all women good.

This feeds into the victim mentality that can reinforce low self-esteem.

If things are so bad that we have to actively teach that hitting people is wrong – then so be it. But it has to be done in the wider context – not just the way it is often presented.
