Another white terrorist against ‘non-British’ caught

BBC News reports today:

Neil Lewington, 43, had developed a bomb factory at his parents’ home in Reading, Berkshire, targeting those he thought “non-British”, jurors heard. The Old Bailey heard he was carrying bomb parts when arrested at Lowestoft, Suffolk, after abusing a conductor.

Later searches of Mr Lewington’s home revealed a notebook entitled “Waffen SS UK members’ handbook” which contained drawings of electronics and chemical mixtures, jurors were told. “In addition to all of that the police discovered evidence that the defendant sympathised with and quite clearly adhered to white supremacist and racist views,” said Mr Altman

I wonder where he got the idea that non-white people in the country were non-British? Bizarrely enough, this is not big enough news to splash on front pages either.

Judging by Mr Lewington’s surname, I suspect if he looks hard enough he may find there’s some Jewish blood there.

Skipping over your great showdown on Friday? Your many ‘fans’ in the audience will be disappointed…

Its no more and more less serious than the similar actions of a would-be Muslim terrorist. I’d say it deserves equal space in the media (which should not be much) and a similar response from the Left.

At least Lewington is facing eight charges related to terrorism or explosives, rather than merely a breach of the peace.

You care to try and stay somewhere in region of the topic at hand? There’s already a thread for discussing that event.

the mail have published this story but not as much as their “85 Sharia Courts in UK” story.

“this is not big enough news to splash on front pages either.”
I don’t know, obviously, but I think that editors may be so worried about others being inspired to follow his example, just as Lewington is said to have been by David Copeland, that- consciously or not- they play such cases down and emphasise the “pathetic weirdo” aspects.

What was he doing with bomb parts in Lowestoft anyway?

  9. Don — on 29th June, 2009 at 8:45 pm

The “pathetic weirdo” aspects do seem to be quite characteristic of this sort, but that doesn’t make them less dangerous. Getting a crude bomb to work isn’t rocket science.

The people in most danger were probably himself and his unfortunate family. Although being shite at terrorism is no excuse for engaging in it.

So I’d probably agree with Roger, that the story may have been muted because there was no need to give a “pathetic weirdo” publicity when there was no wider conspiracy.

I mean, this was a guy who wanted to be part of Combat 18 but who couldn’t work out how. Somebody from mental health services should have been on his case, but they are over-stretched.

The way it works is this: one of these white supremacist fuckers detonate a bomb and kill people, and any loser that comes along will get a headline.

“Getting a crude bomb to work isn’t rocket science.”

Actually, a rocket scientist and a brain surgeon working together failed to build successful bombs a few months ago.

I covered this back in November last year.

“The Waffen SS UK Members Handbook ? I’m not sure the Waffen SS was a membership organisation, let alone one with a British branch. I thought you had to be invited.”

I’d still like to know what our putative Waffen SS member and white supremacist was doing travelling to Lowestoft with his devices. Suffolk’s not exactly awash with ethnic minorities – at least not the sort a ‘white supremacist’ is supposed to hate.

Sunny, what’s all this “another white terrorist” stuff ? You’d have conniptions if the papers shouted “another Asian terrorist” every time a jihadi wannabe got banged up. I’m always telling my commenters, when some currently-a-minority has committed a ghastly crime, that it’s the criminal bit that’s important, that X is “murdering scum”, not “(insert skin colour here) murdering scum”.

As a Briton he gats to decide who is and isn’t British. It is not a matter for Governments.

  16. Roger — on 30th June, 2009 at 9:18 pm

Well, as a Briton, I decide Lewington isn’t a Briton so he doesn’t get the right to decide.

It is a matter for governments, in fact. Who is or is not a citizen of a country is a matter of law. Citizens have certain rights and governments have certain powers of citizens.

  17. 1mongrel — on 1st July, 2009 at 7:21 am

The danger of Governments appointing citizens (Rather than the other way round) was recognized as early as the 17th Century. It is nothing more than Gerrymandering on a huge scale. We put Lady Porter on trial, when can we expect to see Tony Blair in Court?

Here’s a “Tennis Ball Bomb” in action. Frightening eh? Could have been 7/7/ all over again.

Sunny – quite apart from the ‘white’ bit, shouldn’t you wait for the verdict before calling the accused a terrorist ?

The moral of this cautionary tale has to be:

Never take a piss on a station platform when on a lone wolf mission to avenge the wrongs suffered by the White Race.

Now, if this uncaped crusader had made a decent suicide vest and gone on what the learned Yvonne Ridley calls a ‘martyrdom operation’ into a well-filled mosque on a Friday, he’d have REALLY made the headlines

Brits just don’t have THE RIGHT STUFF!
