    I’m back!

by Sunny on 20th June, 2009 at 9:26 PM

Hello all! I took a quiet one week break from blogging, twittering, facebook etc in Morocco last week. I spent most of the week in Marrakech and took the train up to Casablanca for a day. Here are some pics. It was a much needed break, but it’s also good to be back.

(orange juice sellers were everywhere (inside the central square near where I stayed)

(the central square (Jemaa al-Fina at night)

(these stalls spring up in the evening selling food (but with little variety between them I’m afraid)

    (the beach at Casablanca)

(the Hassan Mosque in Casblanca. It’s huge and has nice architecture)

(trekking and resting in the Atlas Mountains (just south of Marrakech)

Good to have you back, Sunny! LC has been quite a contested battleground since you were away… I love the Jemaa el Fina, there’s tons of great food there at the stalls and the people are really friendly. Casablanca also has the nicest climate of anywhere I’ve been.

Nothing like the atmosphere of Jemaa El Fina in the evening, is there?!! :D

Went there last year. Absolute magic.

Jemaa El Fina was jokes! We kept getting asked to eat at the stalls by the owners who would ask where we came from, and once I said ‘London’ would follow that up with some mention of Marks & Spencer, Asda, innit, whatevaaa etc! Jokes.
Some guy even said he was a friend of Thomas Hardy and was from Dorset and had Jane Austen sitting and eating at his stall!!
