Melanie Phillips unveils Obama’s secret plan!

    by Sunny
    4th June, 2009 at 11:19 am

You may know that Barack Obama is giving a speech today in Cairo, addressed to the ‘Muslim world’. In an earlier statement he said:

And one of the points I want to make is, is that if you actually took the number of Muslim Americans, we’d be one of the largest Muslim countries in the world.

Guess what Spectator Magazine’s Melanie Phillips had to say?

Just what planet is this US President on? Or is this not a statement but an aspiration?

Oh yeah, whoops! Barack Hussein Obama mistakenly blurts out his plan to convert America to Islam by stealth! Phillips is so absurd that even fellow blogger Alex Massie couldn’t help but mock her:

This is intriguing and I’d be interested to learn how the President might make the United States an islamic nation. Surely this was something he should have mentioned on the campaign trail? Clearly, his reticence about this confirms the seriousness of his intent. All the most dangerous plots are kept secret, dontcha know? Only the bravest and wisest can penetrate the conspiracy and sound the necessary alert.

The kind of conspiracy loons that Melanie Phillips now attracts is evident by the comments. One says:

It’s because he is a Muslim.

Born as one, educated in early years at a maddrassa, pictured in muslim dress. Even, gasp named Hussein. What’s not Islamic about any of that?

Then the missing records. The birth certificate. The education records.

    Not forgetting that grovelling bow.

I felt that the idea of a black potus was extremely laudable. However of all the suitable black people in the US they pick this marxist, racist and divisive product of the Chicago machine.

Nothing will surprise except for the fact that the US is still in thrall.

Pajamas Media, Atlas Shrugs and Family Security Matters are good places to start if anyone needs a little education outside the MSM.

It’s more amusing that the Spectator Magazine is happy to continue publishing such conspiracy loons.

      Poor Melanie *is* mad.

Her husband seemed so nice when he was on the BBC.

I think I’ll start posting sarcastic comments on her blog because not a single critical one has ever been published.

    2. Fitzroy — on 4th June, 2009 at 11:28 am

      Sorry - I shouldn’t call her mad.

    3. Skylark — on 4th June, 2009 at 11:47 am

      Did Biden supply the numbers?

Let’s hope his financial figures and projections are more accurate.

Given the increase in the Hispanic population the majority of Americans will be Catholics very shortly if they are not already.

blimey, she really has gone moonbat this time. this piece comes across as paranoid to an extraordinary degree and absurdly lacking in critical insight.

      Lol Plats!

      Does she actually believe this?
Or is she just being pointlessly provocative to her ‘market’ of loons and wingnuts?

Have the Beeb dropped her from ‘The Moral Maze’ yet?

(Actually, is that ever coming back on? I really enjoy that programme)

Would a “mainstream” paper print this about any other minority ? What does she expect Obama to do- go there and cuss Muslims? (though if what he is going to say is true its utterly wrong factually)

“It’s more amusing that the Spectator Magazine is happy to continue publishing such conspiracy loons.”

Actually its more amusing that HP had until recently a link to her site and that David T has defended her insanity and that they still have a link to Stephen Pollard a man who has called for muslim immigration to the UK to be banned

“And one of the points I want to make is, is that if you actually took the number of Muslim Americans, we’d be one of the largest Muslim countries in the world.”
I’m more worried about Obama’s ability to count if he actually believes that.

      ‘Sorry - I shouldn’t call her mad.’

You should not. It would be excusing her.

They’d be bigger than the UAE perhaps?

Thank God I wasn’t the only person who realised in less than half a second that this is what Obama actually meant.

      It’s not rocket science, Melanie.

      ******************************************

I think someone’s GP needs to be a little more proactive in spotting obvious symptoms of clinical paranoia in his/her patients and deal with it accordingly, considering that Ms Phillips isn’t exactly hiding her illness from the world. Either she’s horrendously misinformed or she’s genuinely suffering from some kind of psychiatric neurosis in relation to all things Islamic and Muslim. It’s as bad as listening to the (ironically contradictory) rantings and paranoid accusations against Obama in the latest demented audiomessage from Al-Qaeda’s head honchos.

Apart from her various outbursts, I think Melanie’s “problem” became really obvious during her remarks in the Daily Mail about the Mumbai terrorists deliberately identifying Muslim civilians in order to avoid shooting them during the attacks last November (this was actually a total fabrication — the terrorists were indiscriminate in their targetting of victims — so Melanie was either deliberately lying or suffered some kind of psychotic hallucination).

I haven’t read her infamous book although I hear it’s more of the same.

    13. munir — on 4th June, 2009 at 2:06 pm

So we all agree on Mel’s madness

The issue is why is she given speace on a public broadcast to rant and rave ? Would having a regular member of the Moral Maze from the BNP or Al Muhajiroun be accepted?

    14. sonia — on 4th June, 2009 at 2:07 pm

What a waste of space. The Spectator must be hard up for ‘comment’. not only is it surprising they are publishing her but that this woman is actually considered a ‘journalist’! what does that say about media today? If I fancied myself a journalist, I’d be ashamed of where the profession is headed.

    15. sonia — on 4th June, 2009 at 2:08 pm

I don’t believe her writing or thoughts are worthy even of wasting time ‘rebutting’ - there isn’t anything really to ‘rebut’.

    16. sonia — on 4th June, 2009 at 2:09 pm

She’s not ‘mad’ - nothing ‘mad’ about her views, petty perhaps. she just has a particular point of view which many people share, but i don’t see how she’s a “journalist”, unless again, the profession has been dumbed down so much that someone’s caustic/prejudiced remarks down the pub are now what the nation must read.

    17. sonia — on 4th June, 2009 at 2:11 pm

Must say though, of course she enjoys being seen as this ‘rabid’ character - you lot calling her mad mel and writing a post about everything she says - is just feeding her right up. Honestly, she is not worth the time and effort and the fame she gets as a result is detrimental. she might start fancying herself as having a ‘point’.

    18. The Dude — on 4th June, 2009 at 4:48 pm

Folks , you’ve ALL got it wrong about our Mel. The woman is not mad but crazy in love with Barrack Obama. Ms Philips has got a bad dose of the jungles. As for the Spectator printing this ruddish, well they have got to keep up the circulation and nothing sells better than a white woman gagging for it.

    19. Roger — on 4th June, 2009 at 8:56 pm

Yes, but the U.A.E. isn’t a very large country, measured by population, Jai.

“She’s not ‘mad’ - nothing ‘mad’ about her views, petty perhaps.”
The fact that she makes demonstrably false assertions and bases her views on them means she’s mad, in popular if not psychiatric parlance, Sonia. The very fact that suppsedly respectable journals like <i.The Spectator publish articles based on those manifestly false bases is sad evidence of where journalism in the U.K. is going.

    20. Refresh — on 4th June, 2009 at 9:46 pm

I am sorry but when was the Spectator a haven for journalism. It is right-wing publication promoting right wing ideas and agenda. That does not make them mad, it simply tells us what they would like to do.

Melanie Philips is always telling us what she would like to do. There are plenty more who happily tread her path. She is not mad. I only wish she was.

    21. Don — on 4th June, 2009 at 9:50 pm

nothing sells better than a white woman gagging for it.

      Classy.

    22. Jai — on 5th June, 2009 at 10:45 am

Yes, but the U.A.E. isn’t a very large country, measured by population, Jai.

That was my point and, I believe, Obama’s too. Meaning, there are actually more Muslims in the United States than there are in some high-profile Muslim-majority countries in the Middle East, at least in terms of the Gulf states.

    23. bananabrain — on 5th June, 2009 at 10:53 am

I haven’t read her infamous book although I hear it’s more of the same.

no, it’s pretty perceptive and from what i understood of such things founded in decent research. it is more insightfully critical of the mee-jar establishment and the multiculti element in the public sector’s cosying up to dangerous extremists.

however, this piece is just bonkeroonie. it’s very sad.

When they publish pieces with obviously false bases it means they are mad, stupid or dishonest or some combination. The fact that The Spectator was right-wing- conservative, actually, which is a rather different thing- did not mean that it always published suych pieces; indeed, at one time the basis for honest journalism was the acceptance that there was a difference between facts and opinions and that opinions should be based on facts.
