When Griffin shifted the whole direction of the BNP away from street centred activities the anti fascist movement had to do the same. The old ANL was past its sell by date with lollypops and shouting “nazi scum off our streets” when of course the nazis weren’t on the streets any more, certainly not in terms of marching.

These papers were also tailored for different parts of the country. We have distributed 50 000 issues of a special Hackney edition which was written by the local campaign and this has been replicated all over the country.

The use of celebraties is only a part of the campaign and there have been days of action in places like Dagenham were the wards of the do nothing councillors have been mass leafleted.

The last of the leaflets and papers will go out today and then everything is in the lap of the gods and we wen’t know until Sunday when all of the results are announced at once. If we can hold them from even one seat then next year a lot of their council seats come up for reelection and we will be throwing everything at them in outer East London where sixteen of their seats are.

What is effective is relating to what affects or interests people in their every day lives. Apparently Searchlight’s most succesful leaflet was the England football team one which showed what an England team without its ethnic (mainly black) players would look like.

Yeah, I thought of one with pictures of Kelly Holmes, Lenny Henry, Leona Lewis and the cast of Goodness Gracious Me with the words:- Not White Enough for the UK under the BNP. (Needs updating for a younger generation I should think.)

However, I’ve thought anyone who votes for the BNP is either an incurable racist or so grossly thick and ignorant that they couldn’t read the leaflet or would know who these people are.

Labour should just step back and watch.

Hehe. Reminds me of Nick Griffin’s recent statement that he was withdrawing from attending the garden party at Buckingham Palace “because he didn’t want to embarass the Queen”.

My immediate reaction was: “The fact that you’re in this country and have a heartbeat is an embarassment to the Queen, you psychopathic racist idiot”.
