Now lets see iran does not have an industrial base to sustain this project long term.
Iran doesnt have a problem w/ any of its neighbor

If the iranian view is that having bomb is needs for long term security then
2 things are needed a decent size industrial base
and significant knowledge worker working class.
This is because its unlikely any one will let any one iran import any thing weapons related let alone nuclear related… So blowing ones own horn here is not what its in their interest
This milestone is not significant enough to make a lot of noise about. sure a few grams of non weapons grade uranium is a milestone that only a centrifuge engineer would celebrate perhaps by taking a 2 hour lunch and go back to work…
Why did the iranians make a lot of noise already about this…. Are they telling americans and others that they intend to continue operating centrifuges…..

I suspect it has to do with internal iranian situation and he shortchanged internal benifit vs external loss

Also Iran is not going to be where us is going next.
It will be another middle eastern country but not iran.
The whole point of iraqi invasion was to bitch slap
ARABs not persians…
It will keep the pressure up on iran which all this is about.

I would be more worried if dubya hadn’t discussed a possible targeted nuclear strike on Iran. Surely many options have to discussed and discarded by Presidents?

Israel’s foreign policy leaves much to be desired, but I doubt they would be as silly as to bomb Iran.

I saw Mash’s article earlier today too, he makes some very salient points. There is clearly a method to Ahmadinejad’s madness. The problem is, Bush and Israel are playing right into it.

President Ahmadinejad of Iran has in recent days struck both a conciliatory and a belligerent tone in his public remarks. This is not a sign of an unstable personality, as many in the Administration appear to believe. It is, on the contrary, a sign that Iran is practiced in the art of diplomacy.

You see I have a problem with the whole ‘you cant have any nuclear technology’ thing. The US sit there like they have the right to control all this.

I have an issue with nuclear technology full stop, but I dont believe anyone has the right to stop a country developing technology for peaceful purposes.

In the end Pakistan and India went down the same route, both their announcement were co-ordinated with each other behind the scenes. They done alright, and they had weapons, not just power plants.
