Will it all kick off in Germany?

The World Cup’s coming, excited excited! Ah football – the sport of cultured, educated and refined gentlemen and their lady friends. Right?

A shockingly-mistyped story from Rome reveals that neo-Nazis in Europe want to make the World Cup a battleground between themselves and Muslims. They plan to attack fans from all Muslim countries participating. A member of AS Roma’s hooligan faction claimed:

“We are united. For the first time we are talking and planning together, with the English, the Germans, the Dutch, the Spanish, everyone with the same objective. At the World Cup there will be a massacre.”

This comes in light of highly alarming footage from Manchester city centre, showing dozens of football hooligans on the rampage, beating unconscious supporters, knocking over mothers and destroying shops. A senior Manchester police officer claimed that the approach of the World Cup meant that hooligans are warming up, they are making their presence felt.

Sepp Blatter, FIFA President, announced last week that any country whose fans are found guilty of racism will be disqualified from the Cup. This was specifically stated to include sectarian chants as well as religious intolerance.

I really hate our ‘ambassadors’, we have a reputation around the world as violent football thugs; one that is only spreading further as football grows in popularity. Why can’t all football fans be like me – when they get drunk they’ll just pass out somewhere without starting any fights. Tragically it’s not just alcohol that fuels the problem, the worst offenders are not pissheads but racists, fascists and violent hooligans who systematically and soberly plan attacks long in advance.

On a lighter note, Iran may be one of the countries whose fans come under fire, but luckily their Football Federation confirms God is on their side!

[...] Rohin at Pickled Politics links to a disturbing report which claims that Neo-Nazis are planning to “massacre” Muslims at the World Cup. Despicable stuff. Let’s hope FIFA and German authorities take a hardline stance to prevent any form of sectarian violence from rearing its ugly head at the World Cup. [...]

Wow that kick off in Manchester is like the old days of classic England fans hooliganism and thuggery.

The hooligans really really really hate Asians. We are their number one hate target.

Clever of them to announce their intentions in advance though.

I think its a bit far for the FA to say that any country that does not take action against these racists will be banned. some countries have very stringent laws for freedom of speech, like Sweden. In fact one of their ministers recently had to resign for forcing the closure of a Nazi website.

I say let these Neo-Nazi bastards say what they want to. All it does is provoke a backlash anyway, and most people ain’t that stupid to listen to them.

Sunny it’s not that people can’t say what they like in their own homes or outside a football stadium, but FIFA’s (not the FA!) rules are very clear that any team whose fans abuse others at the WC will be punished by ejection. I doubt any team will actually be kicked out though.

Did I tell you I was in Vegas eating a full rack of pork ribs and a bloody steak while I was drinking? Who cares about your opinion?

Please allow me to express my displeasure at you. Just everything. Despite being geographically closer to you, the highlight of my month away was that I didn’t have to endure your claptrap.

Thank God India is not in the WC this year. They will be there…one fine day…most definitely!
