Quite rightly so, because in that part of the world it's very easy to make a slip. A joke must be carefully chosen before it's told. The people are actually living in another time. It makes me laugh when we talk of aliens from outer space when we actually have them living next door! Why is it we (the West) have to act moderately to a society who won't think twice about cutting your hair because it's considered too long in the middle of the street or slitting your throat for some injustice all due to religious beliefs? Besides that, if you allow liars and inciters to weasel their way to power on free speech, free speech is the first thing they'll ban when they can. And I'm holding much with Karl Popper here: "Unlimited tolerance must lead to the disappearance of tolerance. If we extend unlimited tolerance even to those who are intolerant, if we are not prepared to defend a tolerant society against the onslaught of the intolerant, then the tolerant will be destroyed, and tolerance with them… We should therefore claim, in the name of tolerance, the right not to tolerate the intolerant.
