The ‘anti-semitic hate list’
I see, via the Daily Quail, that both the Daily Mail and The Sun have picked up the Telegraph’s desperate story that Muslims are drawing up a ‘hit list’.
As Tim at Bloggerheads shows, the person who wrote the stuff is a troll, who has a habit of deliberately writing offensive things just to get a rise out of people. A freelance journalist who posts these things just to turn them into a story? Now that would be a shock! Not. Also at septicisle. Who’s going to condemn this bit of scare-mongering about Muslims then? Any takers? Will any Jewish organisation condemn this nastiness written in their name?

No mention of the the recent surge in anti-semitic attacks then? I remember many of this blog seriously worrying about Islamophobia after Islamic terror attacks.
I’m sure if an Islamic terror attack had just happened, and a troll turned up at an often dodgy right wing forum posting list of influential Muslims that the Guardian or Mirror would pick up on this as a target guide for bone-head racist thugs. Perhaps an editorial telling the racist hoards not to stare at Muslims or say ninja! to niqabed women in East Ham.

Incidents like this, small attacks like a broken window on a mosque in East London were big news on the left wing blogs after 7/7.
Why no mention of such attacks on Jewish targets, I wonder?
This is probably just a bunch of crap, that they knew it was that much of a deal.
Yet by making this list public in the way they did, they are probably encouraging Muslim extremists to actually target this list of Jewish People, which will give the tabloids plenty of Islamophobic material to publish.
Though of course, Cyburn, Jews are 4 times more likely to be attacked than Muslims in the UK. I wonder why?
There’s little thought about the impact of some really very borderline nasty articles about Israelis and Israel in the Guardian and the Independent in recent weeks.
That’s different though, of course… They are talking about Israel, not Jews. Or Zionists. Not Jews.
Though of course, defenders of the above would say in no way whatsoever was that referred to all Muslims. Just very small number of Muslims who hate people.
@marvin:
Fuck off back to Harry’s Place you racist little troll, Oh and most BNP members are Jewish..wonder why, eh?.
Will any Jewish organisation condemn this nastiness written in their name?
I didn’t think Muslims had to prove they weren’t terrorists…
It’s not ‘written in my name’ it’s written by yet another self-serving, opportunist journalist.
SE have shown yourself to be vile and immature. You think it hilarious that any Jewish organisation would condemn this.
If you weren’t so vicious and deluded, I would assume you were a parody.
Which one of you has the bigger dicks?
Just pull them out, post up the pictures and show it. then I can make a comparison and report you both to the stupid police.
Heh. If you are referring to the ‘argument’ between me and SE (which actually consist of him telling me to fuck off) then I have nothing at all to prove. I often find people with inadequacies need to overcompensate, as it were…
Seriously, WTF?! You cannot be serious. Perhaps you were trying to make some kind of point?
Go on Marvin, you’re just itching to prove you’re the bigger man. Just do it man. I know you want to. Don’t hold back. We’re all friends here… we won’t judge. Honestly.
I think its really important that people let others know they have big dicks on the internet and put them in their place. If you can do that with calling others racist, then even better.
Take a picture! Go on son!
sunny you have the number for the stupid police?
I wish you would post that ..I would like to report everyone!
I agree. Half the internet should be rounded up.
Hahahaha. I would but it wouldn’t fit on the internet I’m afraid lol
Back to the original article, doesn’t look like they’ve investigated their ‘facts’ very well. But no change there really.. Both sides of the fence majorly guilty of this. They just want to prove the size of their perspicacity
Marvin:
Thanks for the links. There will be a piece up in about forty minutes on it.
I was just about to contribute to this thread….But I’d now better fuck off elsewhere.
‘No mention of the the recent surge in anti-semitic attacks then?’
Really? Did you read any of the articles linked to through this very post, all of which emphasise the increase in anti-Semitic attacks over the past couple of months?
A great deal has been made of anti-Jewish sentiment in the newspapers named and the problem that I and others wish to highlight is just how unrelated these issues are.
The ‘Abuislam’ case reveals the underhanded (and quite possibly illegal) work of a freelance journalist looking to whip up some religious hatred where there is none; Abuislam/Richard Tims tried to create a story out of presumed Islamic fundamentalism, quite regardless of what is taking place in Gaza, and was looking to encourage the contributers to the Ummah forum into saying something inflammatory, which they didn’t.
The recent surge in anti-Semitic attacks which you describe is real and worrying, but unconnected to the users of Ummah, who are peaceful and responsible Muslims. Painting such people with the same brush as the minority of Muslims who believe it is justified to commit terrorist acts against Isreal is as useful as calling all British people genocidal maniacs because of the crusades.
There’s no point trying to be sensible Jamie, marvin’s only interested in waving his dick around.
You’re right.
Marvin – pistols at dawn sir! Get it out.
Will any Jewish organisation condemn this nastiness written in their name?
Would you mind explaining to me how, after months of campaigning against the notion that ethnic communities in this country should be held collectively responsible for things that aren’t actually under their control, you’ve suddenly come to the conclusion that the Jewish community is under an obligation to condemn an article that didn’t appear in a Jewish paper and wasn’t written by a Jewish person?
I don’t remember you ever calling on “The Muslim Community” to condemn anything done in their name, ever, and you were right not to, as I always said.
I appreciate that you’ve worked yourself into a state of near-hysteria over the last few days, but it would be nice if you could keep in mind the difference between the State of Israel and the British Jewish community.
Nobody can resist two standards for the price of one!
you’ve suddenly come to the conclusion that the Jewish community is under an obligation to condemn an article that didn’t appear in a Jewish paper and wasn’t written by a Jewish person?
See, I was going to put <sarcastic> tags around that</sarcastic>, but thought it would be too geeky.
My whole point behind writing that was to take the piss out of people, especially on Harry’s Place, who post a few anti-semitic comments, and then ask for Muslims to condemn them.
saying that though katy, the some jewish groups did try that when jonathan sacks spoke out recently… did you see the way they attacked him?
I didn’t think Muslims had to prove they weren’t terrorists…
Tell that to US customs and immigration officials. I haven’t travelled to the USA since 2001 because as a godless muslim, I don’t particularly fancy being stopped, singled out, taken into a smelly little interview room to be probed about my religious tolerance by some sweaty schmuck who thinks the world is 4000 years old, believes dinosaurs and evolution to be man-made lies, wants gays to burn in hell simply because *I* have a muslim name.
Is this what ‘journalism’ is reduced to? What worries me is that this is just chucking petrol onto a fire. What kind of person deliberately acts as an agent provocateur?
[Spell checking agent provocateur takes you to a very different sort of web site, whew!]
Sunny@10 — f***king brilliant. Wicked
What does the PP jury think of the letter written to the PM by “representatives of Muslim organisations”? Should it be taken as a veiled threat or am I reading it wrong?
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2009/jan/08/islam-gaza
PS: Isn’t SE a bit of a twat, or am I reading that wrong too?
My whole point behind writing that was to take the piss out of people, especially on Harry’s Place, who post a few anti-semitic comments, and then ask for Muslims to condemn them.
I see. I think the “sarcastic” tags would have been a good idea, particularly given your subsequent indication that antisemitic attacks on Jews outside of Israel motivated by what’s happening there are suddenly no longer in keeping with your “editorial direction”.
gutter journalism at it’s best.
“”Oh and most BNP members are Jewish..wonder why, eh?”"
WTF? Are they heckers like. But maintain whatever fantasies you like to keep you warm at night.
I am satisfied that this journalism will have done more harm to the poison it wants to feed to the public than it can to the muslims. Given the anti-muslim rhetoric has been there now for so long, surely this demonisation will yield very little and may even be counter-productive to journalist’s cause.
The way story could easily unfold in people’s mind is that he is actively targetting muslims as a part of a pro-Israeli media campaign.
The British public are far more astute than the media credits them with.
http://www.brandrepublic.com/News/872276/Sun-sales-fall-below-three-million/
The Sun sales drop below 3 million
Maybe people are sick of piss-poor journalism
^^^ thank god for that.
i mean forget the anti Muslim stuff, ignore that all together, the rest of it is sh1t too.
