  • Something nice for New Year’s

    by Sunny
    31st December, 2008 at 3:37 pm

And people still say animals don’t have the same emotions as humans. Pffft!
Madam Miow, who’s blog is great by the way, adds:

here’s more solidarity on show here than I’ve ever seen from my lovely comrades currently ripping themselves apart in the left. Perhaps they should watch … and learn.

Amen to that! May the new year bring more left-wing solidarity… (one always lives in hope).

    4. Madam Miaow — on 31st December, 2008 at 6:00 pm

Thanks for the shout out, Sunny.

Marvin, I changed the video to the one you found but realised it had no sound. So I’ve reverted to the original.

Which is better than reverting to Bad Ole Ways, Dave. Recruit? Moi? After what I saw you’d have trouble recruiting me to the World Wildlife Fund!

      Happy New Year, all.

With a bit of luck someone on the left will drag these lame lefties out of the path of the oncoming D-Cam train… hopefully they will survive to fight another day.

      HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!

Happy new year; that dog was just hungry for some road kill.

    13. Vikrant — on 1st January, 2009 at 4:17 pm

Happy New year folks! Hopefully your new years eve was better than mine. I’m backpacking over Northern India with a whiny suburbian American kid :( .. bad decision >.<

    14. Trofim — on 1st January, 2009 at 5:23 pm

You’re right Kulvinder (12). The altruistic dog knows that it’s not a good idea to sit and have a meal in the middle of a freeway. It’s that old fluffy anthropomorphism coming into play again.

      ha ha dave!

      happy new years everyone!

Rather than sniggering I oughta say something useful-

I would serious join something, and I think something could be set alight worldwide using the techniques you have described about the Obama campaign. It would have to bypass the left/right thing and appeal to the truth about our basic nature as humans in need of food and shelter. The illusionary stuff beyond that needs to be blown apart. I’d like to see families and individuals worldwide form networks of support and learning. None of this can be achieved in the traditional framework of “politics”.

Its not “Socialism” it is interesting the majority in some sort of system which makes sure the majority are OK.

I can see why Anna is disillusioned. She has every reason to be. I just reckon there is a way of sorting this without politics. Our species is on a path of refinement. Whether you call it evolution or not, outmoded ways and concepts eventually fall away.

The thing is I reckon it is totally possible because the majority are being ripped off and they can feel it. Some sort of thing concentrating on the health and unity of the majority beyond national borders could serious squeeze and shame the few who are behind the big rip off.

It was all a lot clearer to me this morning but I wasn’t in a state to articulate it. I couldn’t get as far as the computer. Now I’m sobber I’m giving it another go.

I am up for it anyway whatever it is. Happy New Year!

‘Now I’m sobber I’m giving it another go.’

      I’d wait a bit longer.

I think the aspect that will create the most solidarity (and goes beyond political leanings) is the current economic slump.

    19. Jai — on 2nd January, 2009 at 12:00 pm

      Happy New Year everyone.

Let’s hope ’09 turns out to be better than ’08 — and of course, let’s also hope Our Man Barack really turns out to be the heroic figure that people, er, hope he is :)
