why not? we were waiting for a voice from middle east, Al-Jazeera english didn’t do any thing special, less see if Press TV ( An Iranian channel!!!) can deliver any alternative to the media.

I definitely don’t see why Andrew Gilligan attracts all this hostility. I think it all went wrong for some people who are being hostile to him here when he started to hold Livingstone to account on his pandering to Islamic extremists, followed by his uncovering of the leader of a Hindu supremacist group on an ‘inter-faith dialogue’ group, chasing up the appointment of a leader of a reconstituted banned Sikh extremist group who was also a member of Livingstone’s appointments to some quango, and then, the ultimate, going after Lee Jasper and the whole rotten core of his crony brigade. I guess for some, that just cuts too close to the bone.

So, where did all the money go? Anyone?

Take it from me, he isn’t. He managed to misquote and misrepresent me in his column without apparent effort, and when confronted with really pretty good evidence of his own underhand conduct on the internet (apparently posting under pseudonyms to support his own position) spent a great deal of effort trying to wriggle out from under it, using classic politician style evasive tactics (and managing to piss off a good chunk of the British political blogosphere in the process). Whatever the reason for this, it doesn’t inspire a great deal of trust.

Giiligan is a good journalist. I keep thinking back to all of the abuse he got when he exposed Lee Jasper and when everyone was saying ” Where did the money go?” Where did it go?
