There is no way I could see Obama being allowed to make peace with Mullah Omar.

Al-Zawahri says in an audio message, which appeared on militant Web sites Wednesday, that Obama is “the direct opposite of honorable black Americans” like Malcolm X. He calls Obama a “house negro.” The audio plays over still pictures of al-Zawahri, Malcolm X praying, and Obama with Jewish leaders.

It seems that “house negro” is a translation from “black slave/servant”. I wonder how Fox News is going to spin this one after months of the “Obama paling with terrorists” theme. I guess for Al Qaeda, the White House only acquired a house negro.

I do not think that is a measure of change. It is a measure of his commitment to get things done efficiently: he is finding competent and experience people who do not need to learn on the job. What this election has shown, is that Obama has tight control over the people he hires, and he will direct the change from above. It is the commander that sails the direction of the ship, not the people who work on it.. what you want from them is that they are experienced and competent.

On those who say that Holder should not be appointed as AG because he defended “backers” of Columbian death squads – that argument does not hold much weight in my opinion. Even the death squads deserve equal protection from the law and the law requires that they be given a robust defence. That’s what a liberal democracy is all about. And, considering the last 2 AGs US had to bear with (Ashcroft at least respected the Constitution) I think Holder’s choice would be an excellent one. Who cares if he happens to be Black?

No doubt, for some this will show how much people care about the colour of someone’s skin instead of whether they can do their job or not.
