SUBJECT: REQUEST FOR RIGHT OF OWNERSHIP FOR THE PEOPLE OF DHOBI AHATA, SARAY RATAN CHAND UNDER EVACUEE TRUST PROPERTY BOARD.

Dear Sir, A community of laundrymen and people, we had migrated from India to live in Muslim homeland of Pakistan in 1947 and had settled in Saraay Ratan Chand, Chowk Shah Alam Gate in the Bansanwala Bazar, Lahore. The houses that we took up for living here were taken over by the Evacuee Trust Property Board whose office at 9-Court Street, Lahore received rent from us. These houses were in dilapidated condition and the Saraay Rattan Chand area itself was also unlivable due to lack of drainage facilities. In the last 59 years, we have repaired these houses with our meager incomes and also spent money on the improvement of the area itself.

We request the Government of Pakistan to Grant us the Right of Ownership of our houses as it has done to several kacchi-abadies of Lahore.

At the same time I advise Ahmedies also to change their policies and stop cruel practices like ‘social boycott’, expulsions, hate propaganda, forced divorces and family breakups that they use against people who chose to leave Jamaat or express dissent about the policies or personal behaviour of Ahmedi leadership. It is highly hypocritical that Ahmedies don’t allow any Ahmedi to object on any belief or people of Mirza family but expect that others will tolerate their beliefs that are in conflict with some basic tenants of Main stream Islam.

A lot of problems against Ahmedies are direct result of social isolation that Ahmedies have self-created due to their policy of not having marital and social relations with non-Ahmedi Muslims. This policy of Ahmadiyya has made this community a fortress community that is held hostage by their own dogmas – many purely based on hate.

I am an Ahmedi by birth and held many positions in Jamaat in my youth. Right now I am facing a severe social boycott by Ahmedi community including families of me and my wife. Is such practice human? My only crime was that I criticize corruption among clergy and so-called holy Mirza family and also some wrong practices including discrimination against women.

WE DO BELIEVE THAT PROPHET MUHAMMAD (PBUH) WAS THE FINAL PROPHET OF GOD, SEAL OF THE PROPHETS. WE BELIEVE THAT HADHRAT MIRZA GHULAM AHMAD OF QADIAN IS THE PROMISED MESSIAH AND MAHDI. THERE IS ALOT OF DIFFERENCE IN THE WORDS PROPHET AND MESSIAH. SO ‘ASHIK’ GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT BEFORE TELLING PEOPLE WHAT WE BELIEVE IN. IT’S NOT RIGHT THAT YOU DONT KNOW ABOUT THE FAITH AND YOUR TELLING PEOPLE ABOUT IT.

AND YES WE HAVE TO WRITE ‘AHMADIE’ IN THE RELIGION COLOMN IN THE PASSORT FORMS. IF WE WRITE ‘ISLAM’ AS RELIGION, THEY WILL NOT ACCEPT IT AND WOULD ACCUSE US OF LYING.

Most religious people believe in the truth of their own confession to the point of annoyance and smugness, to others. Some are so far their own arseholes they’re smug enough to believe their own BO doesn’t stink, set up comparitive-religion websites and pretend to do great work in interfaith groups – which are usually nothing more than advocacy for their own religious supremacism. Can you imagine?

Him and others of similar views in previous link were not only not declared non-Muslims but are actually considered scholars of Islam…hmmmm.

Depends on how wide your definition of Islam is willing to stretch…

I’m not sure how many Ahmadi people you’ve come across, but every one I’ve met seems to refer to him not as an actual prophet, but someone who ‘renewed’ the faith..

I don’t know how clear that is, but I don’t think anyone has the right to declare them as non-Muslims but themselves..from what I can see, there appear to only be fractional and minor differences between Sunnis and Ahmadis anyway…again, who gets to decide who is or isn’t a Muslim?

The Program has succeeded in showing the enlightened face of Islam as evidenced in the Holy Quran, Hadith, Fiqah & Sunnah. By asking scholars & Ulema from different sects of Islam to share a platform, the program has demonstrated the very many commonalities that unite us. It accepts pluralities of views in the sprit of tolerance & harmony.

I’m surprised at the Dr though. I’ve seen him on TV before when GEO used to be free and he seemed the sane type.

I’d like to table a motion: Revoke Geo TV’s UK license and ban the station from transmitting here in the UK, for incitement of hatred and Hate Speech.

Zero tolerance for backward religious advocacy.

However, I agree with you that inciting violence against people is entirely unacceptable. Especially for someone who holds a responsible position on a TV station.
