BNP running gun camps for kids

by Sunny on 5th September, 2008 at 5:26 pm

    The Daily Mirror reports:

Boys and girls as young as 12 have been taught to shoot a rifle, given demonstrations of knife techniques and shown how to make a lethal wooden dart called a Dutch arrow. The youngsters are also brainwashed with lectures on the BNP’s racist beliefs and given talks on how to deal with “Marxist” teachers.

The BNP ran the first youth camp at its annual summer festival called Red, White and Blue. The party’s website boasts that children were taught how to make the Dutch arrows, which can be hurled 150 metres.

Looks like the BNP is copying tactics directly from America in the vein of the KKK and Campus Watch. Ain’t that nice…

I’d be far more concerned with the brain washing side of this than the gun and knife issues. As flipside points out the Scouts and Guides as well as the various military cadet forces teach the proper discilpined use of both guns and knives.

The most formative experiences for most young people are when they are away on residential experiences be that with their school, scouts, sports teams or organisations like the BNP. And that is why we should be concerned because I would reckon the kids that attend these will be far more likely to develope racist views than those who don’t.

Odd I could’ve sworn I posted: “Imagine the reaction if this was some Muslim group that was caught doing this?”

    3. Don — on 5th September, 2008 at 7:51 pm

I doubt it, Leon. You would never have been so obvious.

    4. Leon — on 5th September, 2008 at 8:22 pm

Being obvious is a lost art in today’s troubled world…

    5. monkey — on 5th September, 2008 at 10:08 pm

I was in the scouts network for most of my youth and we did all of the above and more. Now im not for the BNP but you cant assume brainwashing from such a repreble paper as The Daily Mirror.
As Leon says and to comment this goes on all the while in Mosques all around the Country and they are seen to enforce it. At least the BNP would fight for their country and care about what happens to it.

    6. Nyrone — on 5th September, 2008 at 10:11 pm

anyone know how roughly many kids showed up at the youth camp?

    7. Sunny — on 5th September, 2008 at 10:58 pm

At least the BNP would fight for their country

      Against who? Other Britons?

      Leon – you did… I don’t remember deleting it. I did flipside’s rubbish though.

    8. monkey — on 5th September, 2008 at 11:53 pm

Against those that mean it harm, you ask the thousands of muslims that have come to live in our country to stand up and fight for it im sure they would certainly say no. Especially on todays war on terror.
Againt im not a follower of the BNP but they do have some very good points that other political parties should consider before we loose the identity of our great nation altogether.

    9. Hooha — on 6th September, 2008 at 12:17 am

Monkey: if you want to vote for the BNP, do so, but stop promoting them here. Get lost, and die.

    10. Andy Gilmour — on 6th September, 2008 at 12:34 am

For anyone doubting Mr. Monkey’s sincerity of belief in the good points of the BNP, here’s a little excerpt from his blog, regarding why he didn’t enjoy returning to England from his U.S. holiday:

“well maybe its because when you return to your country you don’t get a Welcome but a second look by a muslim passport inspector who looks at you because im wearing a backpack, THE FUCKING CHEEK!!”

We must assume he asked the official concerned as to their religious preferences, rather than just relying on a visual assessment…and how dare such an official glance at the upstanding Mr. Monkey more than once.

I shudder to think what offence this must have caused…we should campaign to have the inspector removed from their post forthwith!

      :-)

Fuck off I never said or implied that. My point was bloody obvious imagine the outrage and freaking out (Mail readers frothing at the mouth) if this was a Muslim group that did this.

    12. monkey — on 6th September, 2008 at 3:07 am

Get lost and die is a little harsh, but i see i may have struck a nerve but hey thanks for reading and quoting my blog.

Just out of interest – what is the police and the intelligence services for? Or do you think the BNP can do a better job?

    14. thabet — on 6th September, 2008 at 6:36 am

Now im not for the BNP…

Right up there with “Now, I’ve got lots of black friends, but…”

    15. Ravi Naik — on 6th September, 2008 at 9:53 am

Againt im not a follower of the BNP but they do have some very good points

Even if we granted you that, that still leads to questions such as whether they are competent to lead this country forward and to grasp the complexities of the economy… Are they serious about security as well, considering a lot of their people have criminal records?

Not sure why Sunny is focused on this Daily Mirror article – it is written in the same trashy style as when they report about radical Islam: with a good dose of histrionics and sensationalism. They are basing their report on a single BNP page, have absolutely no clue what is being taught there. Are the activities illegal? What is being said? No answer to these questions, instead we get a lecture on Hitler youth which covers half of the article. And couldn’t they run a spellchecker? I mean, “exclsuive”?

As I said before, we are better than this.

    16. El Cid — on 6th September, 2008 at 10:23 am

“Not sure why Sunny is focused on this Daily Mirror article – it is written in the same trashy style as when they report about radical Islam”

Ravi, I agree. It’s a bit like the ‘PC gone mad stories’. But you know if you are going to have one type of story, then you might as well have the other. Balance is easier to achieve than truth (and sometimes even preferable).

“As I said before, we are better than this.”
I dunno. I think this story is fair game for PP. It’s not like that AB shit from a few weeks before. But as Sunny has made clear, PP is no longer about building bridges, post-racist politics, open and honest debate but about attack dogs at the expense of objectivity, culture wars, controlling the narrative, etc.
I guess it’s a bit like the party politicking we all know and love (Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz).

    17. marvin — on 6th September, 2008 at 11:33 am

      Ravi, El Cid, well said.

    18. Tu S. Tin — on 6th September, 2008 at 3:45 pm

this is an excellent article to focus on! I understand, and after looking more, agree with the KKK comparison .. but something that makes it different maybe is that like the earlier “nazi army” post points out KKK and other racist based groups need to hide their beliefs to get involved in american politics …. so it’s good in a way BNP is all out on display with it’s intentions. Bad that people can find ways to agree with them too. At the same time I think hammas is a good example of what happens when a group like this does gain control. some things I don’t understand about any “national” party is how they don’t see themselves as exactly the same as the people they stand to fight against? They all say the same things! Sounds like the BNP aims to force their ideal of britishness on all including strict punishment for crime…. following the extreme path .. that in the end would make life in the UK no different than that of living in Saudi. What makes them or anyone else think life under hitlers rule was all peachy for all germans? cause it wasn’t at all!
One thing I would to see going on .. is minority groups in the UK … taking the time to understand what British culture actually is and means … instead of always fighting for their own rights… it might help understand each others needs

    19. Jai — on 6th September, 2008 at 7:50 pm

Get lost and die is a little harsh, but i see i may have struck a nerve

As did the “Muslim” passport inspector, evidently. By the way, Monkey, how do you know he was a Muslim ?

We will temporarily ignore the fact that, even if he was indeed a Muslim, within the remit of his job he was fully within his rights to view you with suspicion if felt he had genuine grounds to do so as a result of you potentially posing some kind of danger to the public. I see that the irony of such an individual actually doing his job properly in this way is completely lost on you.

Assuming, of course, that the reason for you being offended was not actually the fact that the “Muslim” had the nerve and the insolence to look at you without showing you sufficient deference and submissiveness. We can’t have any uppity brown people getting ideas above their station and refusing to know their place, can we ?

      monkey

“As Leon says and to comment this goes on all the while in Mosques all around the Country and they are seen to enforce it”

even from the BNP this is outlandish bullshit. Which mosques in the UK carries out military training?

    21. Shamit — on 7th September, 2008 at 12:12 am

Do Border Security Inspectors wear name badges? if not, I repeat Jai’s question “how did you know he was a muslim”?

Obviously you did not have any problem giving your fingerprints to the US Government – I wonder then why are you so perturbed when the Security Forces of your own country are just doing their job?

I think Jai said it brilliantly.

I wouldn’t get too worked up about this, it is just one of Griffins strategies to make the party family friendly like last months Red White and Blue festival.

Far more serious are developments in the British Peoples Party which have a much closer connection to the violent end of far right politics in this country.

A former member has just been given sixteen years for bomb making equipment and it was to this end of the racist spectrum that David Copeland was drawn. He was influenced enough to make and detonate three bombs.

The party is attracting the frustrated and angry elements with the far right which are fed with Griffin’s gradualism. They have a web site http://www.bpp.org.uk which is worth a look at and the party is run by Kevin Watmough who moderates http://www.skrewdriver.org.uk which is where nazis from all over the world talk to each other. Click the kalashnikov and go to guest book. Be warned, it’s strong stuff.

Also on this site is Red Watch which contains the details of thousands of anti fascists and actual incitement to violence. There is speculation that the security services allow it to stay up to monitor what the hard core are doing but they will have some explaining to do if someone takes the site literally and goes out to kill.

The BPP are having a demo against rap music in Leeds next month which should be interesting.

All this brandishing of the BNP as fascists is absolutely absurd. No fascists in their right mind desires a populace that is fully armed, it decentralizes deadly force. The first thing fascist and totalitarian governments have done is to always take peoples guns away, not promote them. You Europeans are so skewed in your thought processes, it makes me shudder. All of your grandparents, if they were alive, would be BNP supporters, but apparently you are rascist for desiring to protect your own culture. Anglo-Saxons/Norman/Celtic have become completely emasculated.
