Keith Vaz rewarded for 42 days vote

by Sunny on 3rd July, 2008 at 12:47 AM

This was Keith Vaz a few months ago:

Keith Vaz questioned why 42 days was needed if the government now agreed to post-charge questioning. “If they agree the three points set out in the Home Affairs Committee report, I will support them. That would mean the vote is much closer. If the committee votes with the government it would bring about 20 waverers on-side. If not, they’re likely to lose.”

    And now…

Labour MP Keith Vaz has dismissed suggestions he was offered incentives to vote for the controversial 42-day limit on pre-charge detention. It follows exchanges between Gordon Brown and David Cameron, over a letter suggesting Mr Vaz may be “appropriately rewarded” for his support.

With the grin he was pulling when his committee sat you could see he was pandering to the media -simply playing hard to get. Surely he hadn’t taken the debate or his position seriously at all.

I don’t think there’s any question of whether Vaz was offered a sweetener. I’m just glad the story has come out – maybe there’ll now be greater scrutiny of any other sweeteners he gets for any future pretence of opposition.

That said how many other MP’s are in the same boat (or is that trough). Honorable members my #@&%!

I wonder if Brown deliberately leaked the story to avoid paying up? LOLOL!!

Slimey fat toads like Keith Vaz simply can’t be trusted…he should be ashamed of himself, but then that is not possible because as an opportunist, career politician he is basically shameless. What is with these Asian businessmen and politicians? They will do anything to get a knighthood or get to the Lords…in other words anything that endorses their position as Ace Ass Lickers.
