but it's not paid for by herself, which if I remember correctly, was one of Sunnys' complaints.

At the bottom of the homepage it says it is funded from her 'Incidental Expenses Provision'.

Uhm no. Anyone elected as a Member of Parliament is there to represent their constituents; the constituents - the taxpayers - provide MPs with both their salaries and ancillary finances so that the MP may better work for them.

We do not pay MPs for party political activities; those who are not card carrying members of a political party do not particularly care about party politics. I certainly do not want my money to be used by an MP to attack his or her rivals in order to get re-elected; it makes the state a defacto supporter of private politcal parties.

If we don't put our foot down at this sort of thing it'll only escalate to the point parties start betting the shop on winning an election in the knowledge they can carry out subtle 'refinancing' once they're in power. If Ms Dorries (or any other MP) want to attack someone who is after their job they can do it out of their own pocket.

websites funded at taxpayers’ expense are explicitly forbidden from party political activities or campaigning

What a bizarre rule. Of course an MP's website will contain party political activities and campaigning -- it's what MPs do.

She's an MP Jamie, and not only that but an MP that is attempting to initiate legislation. Her activities, therefore, are of interest to us.

Respectfully,

Ben
