On some rare occassions, racial epithets are useful and efficacious. It all depends on the context.

Its also obvious that different terms are loaded in different ways to different people. I find the word chav to mean the same thing as Trash – and applicable to all races. I do not find either term as offensive as universally offensive terms like nigger or paki. Since a chav or Trash applies to a subset of a race the existence of which, as you know, exists for all races and communities and peoples and not exclusive to any one.

As for rudeboy – isn’t that a derivative of skinhead and orginally a term used for Jamaican gang members and later in reference to a particular flavour of West Indian ska music from the 60s and early 70s. Later revived in the early 80s by bands like the Specials etc. A precursor to Gangsta, if you like.
