This campaign proves what WOC have been saying for generations about feminism. It is only concerned with advancing the desires of white women that belong to a certain class.

@ Jennie

"digitalcntrl, the problem is that a woman like Clinton does DAMAGE to the cause of feminism."

I would agree. Though try telling the gen X feminists that. Some of them have gone off the deep end.

"Give you a break? A break after the woman declared to USA Today that she should be president because Obama wouldn’t win the white vote? A break after she had trouble bringing herself to say that he was a Christian and that he was patriotic?"

Alot of this boils down to sour grapes for feminists. For many older feminists especially, this was there one shot in getting a female into the white house (many now saw it is unlikely they will see a women president in their liftime). And now they angry that a youthful upstart is taking away what they feel Clinton and the feminist movement tried so hard and long to get...

I'm a die-hard (male) pro-feminist. And I've been for Obama since long before MOST of my friends/family had even heard of him. I know more people who were converts from Hilary to Obama, than people who were pro-Obama all-along.

"Hell, she won Virginia handily thanks to the naked racism everywhere in the state."

Actually its West Virginia. Virginia voted for Obama thanks to the areas around Washington DC in Virginia that balance out rednecks living down south.

"But unlike some, I’m not playing a zero-sum game here. I accept that Clinton has faced tons of sexism in this race in the media. But to think as if it was instigated by Obama against Clinton is pure fantasy. Its not just fantasy… its pathetic delusion."

It's ridiculous. 'The media' doesn't need any prompts in directing a torrent of sexism at Clinton.

This is really sad. Hillary thought she had it all wrapped up, in terms of the nomination at least, and what she can't apparently see is that she blew it. Obama is coming through this campaign toughened. I expect the shit will hit the fan after he gets the Democratic nomination. It is then that the wing nuts will be out in force with fake allegations. Where Obama wins is that he has millions of folk willing to take the wing nuts on, head to head. That is the advantage that a genuinely grass roots movement has in the digital age.

The Clinton's did appoint a significant amount of black people into their cabinet. But their racist reasoning was that 'because we have put you people in senior positions, you must be loyal to us forever'. They expected them to sit quietly in their places.

That's why they are incensed that after 'all we have done for them they have the guts to vote against us'.

"He got lucky that he ran against a woman — if Clinton hadn’t been a contender, he would’ve been trounced by Any White Male in the first few months."

I suppose Biden,Dodd,Edwards,Gravel,Kucinich(sp) would take issue with that statement.

Clinton had the best political machine at her behest and she blew it by her own actions. Obama and his political team quietly did the work on the ground while she was basking in her inevitability.

I wouldn't even touch that irresponsible rape analogy.
