No politician inspires any confidence in me. Why should they? Its not the individual -the system is a big problem. More acknowledgement of that in addition to treating the whole thing like a football game would be smart.

What on earth do you see in Edwards?

The elections of 2008 are the lousiest I’ve ever seen.

None of these candidates deserve to stand for president.

The entire world may be heading for some very hard economic times, and yet the U.S. public is expected to choose between two or three second-rate career politicans who are quite unable to weather crisis conditions.

None of the three inspire confidence.

Edwards has always been disengenuous and weak …
What a hypocrite … does he actually expect us to believe his commitment to poverty, when in reality he flaunts his huge multi-kazillion dollar compound (house) directly across the street from poor people … not to mention his $400 hair cuts, which could feed a family of four for four weeks! Then he waits till Obama is way in the lead, before endorsing him. What weak character … or, rather lack of character. I doubt his endorsement has any value … and, anybody who values his endorsement, doesn’t have any values.

I don’t think Edwards helps Obama that much as a VP – liberal voters will vote Obama anyway.

What would help Obama is someone like Jim Webb – a more conservative democrat with military credentials. America is still fighting two wars, and he would add more weight to Obama’s candidacy. And as an added bonus, McCain would have to salute him due to his military ranking.

(There is a desi angle to Jim Webb: remember the macaca incident?).

I’d have thought Edwards was the obvious choice. He can help Obama’s campaign and reach voters that Obama is, apparently, struggling with. Also, he seems to have his head screwed on.

The media has already shifted to the next big question: should Obama choose Clinton as his VP. Even if you think Clinton deserves that place given that the race has been competitive, and she does have a following… I hope Obama is smart enough not to go there. Clinton is a polarising figure and will get Republicans fired up, she and Bill have a lot of skeletons in their closet (Obama did not attack her on that – but Republicans will), and then there is that fatal comment in which she said that she and McCain are ready to be commander-in-chief, and Obama only has one speech.
