Maybe so.
But the best President in my lifetime – no, *not* Carter, but Reagan – was also “stupid”.
But he knew – in broad terms – what he wanted to get done.

I don’t care if the candidates are “stupid” or “brilliant” – indeed the latter scares me.

The President – like a CEO – needs (oh dear, I’m about to say it) the “vision thing”.
But he or she should know his/her limitations sufficiently as to leave the details to others, while having the right personal skills.

(In Brown of course we have the opposite, but that’s another story…)

On these criteria I would reject Hillary at least…

I am becoming obsessed with the US elections – it is becoming an exercise in understanding human stupidity. I really can’t believe “pundits” were hammering Obama for ordering orange juice instead of coffee. Or being elitist – because the most important qualification for becoming a President is drinking beer, bowling and shooting animals.

And then you have Clinton, who I once admired, but now think she is worse than the Republicans. The Bosnia flap was appalling: she repeated that lie 4 times. And McCain has no clue about Shiahs and Sunnis.

I guess you really have to be a genius in America to understand who is the best candidate.

oh did you guys notice the US trying to tell the Indian Government about what conversations they should be having with “M A DINNER JACKET ie Ahmadinejad ” — both the comments from the US and the retaliatory response from India (especially the Marxists) was quite funny.

You can ‘reconcile those narratives’, as they say, by assuming the secret Zionist masters are double-secretly working for al Qaeda. For example, they could be prolonging the occupation of the West bank as a means of ensuring al qaeda is favoured over less vigorous groups.
