Ah bollocks to that. I’ve seen a total of perhaps 5 minutes of this movie and it thankfully doesn’t look like a stereotyped bud bud bad-accented 1-dimensional joke, Myers is too smart a comedian for that. It looks funny. But I’m sure silly religious people (not suggested all religious people are silly, just the silly ones) will get their chuddies in a bunch.

However, it DOES look like a re-hash of recent Austin Powers movies with similar jokes and actors.

Isn’t this more likely to annoy fans of good comedy? Recent films with the word Guru in the title have hardly set the world alight…

Now Waynes World was great (and far smarter than it was ever given credit for) and you can’t help admiring the voice of Shrek.

But Guru satire sounds like old hat – there was enough of it about at the time in the 60s and 70s (just as in the 60s, there were plenty of Bond spoofs including a Carry On Spying long before Austin Powers – although that did add its own contemporary silliness and had Mini-Me).

ps; Kismet,wasn’t it fondling Mia farrow’s sister that led to the song Sexy sadie?

ppsL I bet Marianna was smoking hot in her day as well.

They shouldn’t complain. The Beatles did wonders for the guru trade even if the Maharishi did make them lose all faith when he tried to get jiggy with Marianna Faithful. Didn’t harm him much though. He ammassed a Â£2 billion fortune and died peacefully despite all the rape charges. What’s to mock?
