Hello folks,
Apologies for my extended absence, I’ve been caught up with one of my projects and a couple of unexpected social outings that took a day or two to sleep off.

Other than that it’s been work, work, work and marvelling at the performance of Phillip Glenister as DCI Hunt in Ashes to Ashes. I’m reserving judgement on the programme itself until it’s got another couple of episodes under it’s belt but Glenister alone makes it worth watching.

I hope you’re all well and getting up to mischief either online or in the real world which I’ve been led to understand still exists despite my absence.

As usual keep your comments light, your links amusing and your danders up.

Cheerio

I’ve been horribly busy. I’ve barely seen poor Mr Clairwil for weeks.

I shall cross my fingers for a decent spread for you on Sunday, failing that bully him into getting you a takeaway and at least one beer!

I’m enjoying the show too. Interesting how they’ve turned Hunt into a more overtly heroic figure compared to how he was in Life After Mars, although he’s obviously still somewhat non-PC.

Also, and speaking of being non-PC, notwithstanding her onscreen early 80s hairstyle which I’m going to refrain from commenting on, Keeley Hawes is really really frikking sexy. Including that voice.

I remember seeing her looking very sleek and stylish indeed in some new makeup/anti-aging product advert on TV a couple of times during the past month or so, thinking “Bloody hell, who is this elegant foxy woman ?!”, and shortly afterwards, there she is on Ashes to Ashes. I hadn’t realised it was her and had assumed the woman in the commercial was some random model.

Very nice, very womanly, and sure beats some giggling bimbo.

Incidentally, some of you will be thrilled to hear that due to a new job I have just started and very heavy work commitments, I will be considerably cutting down on my participation on PP during the weekdays. Don’t all break out the non-alcoholic bubbly at once, now.

    Life After Mars

    *cough* “Life On Mars”.

And that’s just the trial video. I wonder what she does with what appears to be a jumbo spring onion in the full video? But not enough to pay for it.

Please don’t insult me like that. All my bubbly is strictly, and strongly, alcoholic :)

hello vikrant, what have you been upto then?

    Hi Sonia,

I’m fucking trapped here in Illinois in Urbana-Champaign where the cornfields start within the city limits and it snows in feets. Even the fact that we have the largest frat system in US doesnt make it any better. My life has been reduced to nerding it up over the weekdays since this is like one of the greulling engineering programs in US, and getting drunk/high over the weekends.

Argh back to homework which looks something like:
    0001 100 100 000001 ; (:x300B)ADD R4 R4 R1
    0001 010 010 100001 ; (:x300C)ADD R2 R2 #1
    0001 100 100 100000 ; (:x300D)ADD R4 R4 #0
    0000 011 000000010 ; (:x300E)BRp
    0001 010 010 100000 ; (:x300F)ADD R2 R2 #0
    0000 001 111111010 ; (:x3010)BRp

    ><

    :( i miss Blighty.

  12. Vikrant — on 25th February, 2008 at 4:07 pm

Thanks Sonia, very kind of you. It’s challenging work, but very interesting, and is proving to be another leap forward in my career in the City.
