Talk about desperately trying to create the most extremely tenuous of links. That was lame.
These stories have been going on since time immemorial amongst people.
Sorry, story was crap racism yes, but the link to your ‘previous story’ was crap and its not like this isn’t always going on. Not sure what your aim was in this. All it demonstrates is that the focus has shifted to Poles.

Isn’t the News Of The World one of the papers that always complains about immigrants not integrating ?

This Polish citizen has ceraintly integrated – so the NoTW shouldn’t complain (unless of course it doesn’t really believe in integration after all).

As an American who’s stolen both British men and jobs from locals obviously more deserving than me, I just say “Rock on, Poles.” ;p

This is like a few months ago when the papers were going on about the whole “45% of jobs created since ‘97 have gone to foreign-born workers.” And I looked around at the 11-member web team I’m on, including a Canadian, a Somalian, a Dutch guy and me, and had a few very snarky thoughts about Brits and their skills and qualifications. ANYway…on with the cultural miscegenation…

Classic British tabloid stuff: a cross between soft porn and xenophobia. Nothing seems to have changed much over the years. In the eighties it was the hordes of Afro-Caribbean immigrants who were running away with your women, now it’s the East Europeans.

I’ve certainly no complaints about the influx of gorgeous central and eastern European women. Since 25 (I’m at the wrong end of 30) most of my long term relationships have been with foreign girls: French, Swedish and now Italian. By accident rather than design (I’m a Londoner).

My home-grown female friends and colleagues don’t seem too fussed (by all the foreign competition I mean, not my unavailability) unless that is, they begin to link their status as 30-something singles with the new blood – I have to admit there are benefits to going out with a woman who insists on making dinner every evening…

You know what’s interesting?

No one ever voices a similar sentiment to foreign women who hook up with guys of whatever country they are in. Sure, I’ve heard the snarky “Italian men like American women because they can’t handle Italian women” or “All the ‘good’ black guys go for white girls” or “We are losing all of our ‘good’ Asian men to white women.” But I have yet to hear a propietous (sp) claim towards men vis-a-vis foreign women who live and work in the country and presumably present some sexual and social danger to the entire society: “American women are romping their way into Italy stealing all of our men!” in Italy, or “Those American women flock to the UK and are taking over our men!” Apparently, it is assumed that men have full faculty and power over their decisions, whereas women are “taken” and “stolen”- ie, it’s not that the women willfully, consciously and with full awareness chose to be with a guy. It’s that they are in the passive– they are “taken.”
