The above, like the ‘war on terror’, is yet another attempt to maintain the hegemony of the idea of the nation-state over what is in reality a Transnational Humanity.

The muslims are ahead of humanity in the realisation that they are ONE despite the illusory borders of the nation-state. When are rest going to ‘get with the program’? How about doing a frog-leap over the transnational militants (aka ‘terrorists’) and converting this site into an ‘Asian despite Asia and Cosmopolitan despite Britain’ site?

I’ve started it with my ‘CosmoBlog’ initiative despite the many ‘nationalxxxBlog’ promoters out there. How about presenting the British media with an Asian perspective despite nationality?

Islam and Hinduism(as illustrated in the ‘aum’), in essence, is ahead of western perspectives in that it recognises ‘Unity Despite’.

Ahhh….perhaps some day these people will realise that which is self-evident to myself and some others. Till then, i will languish in the oblivion of Cosmoplitanism.

Inquisitor: This is really about Britons of Asian origin because I want to be able to summarise what they’re saying on some issues when they come up. That way PP can reflect the opinions of a wider group too, not just those of our own writers.

I think iNquisitor has a great point. fair enough you want to focus on ‘british asian’ bloggers but if someone wants to engage with you, you can’t really leave them out without being exclusionist and group-ist.

where am i from? well that depends on what you mean. i say im from bangladesh that’s what my nationality is – and i happen to have been born there. i’ve lived there for 2 years and my parents live there now, and i visit them. i’ve grown up in several different continents – i’ve never lived anywhere long enough to be ‘from there’. So i say im from bangladesh – the only ones who take issue are the ones from there who say man you aren’t authentic.
though i never said i was..!

What if i was ‘asian’ and ‘british’ but ‘blogged’ about non-asian and non-british matters?

What if i wasn’t ‘asian’ or ‘british’ but ‘blogged’ about asian and british matters?

What if i was ‘asian’ in sight but cosmopolitan in perspectival height?

I am of the Race of Thinkers. Would that make me part
‘British’ and thus render my perspectives worthy of local consideration?

hmm! goodness look at your categorizations you lot ..doesn’t look like you’ll find many blogs to fit into your niche does it. well i have a blog – i’m not British -and i happen to be asian, though i probably don’t have the same issues as i havent grown up here and hence i dont really have ‘ethnic minority’ issues – i think you know what i mean, i apologize for my inarticulateness!

i do have issues with stupid people across the world and violence, having survived a war so i like to blog about the general lack of liberality and understanding about.

take a look see – its a bit controversial and i like to encourage fiery debate, again i apologize if it offends anyone..
