The Open Thread
Hello again,
I can’t believe it’s been a week since the last one. This living in near permanent darkness does throw me off balance something awful. Add torrential rain into the mix with a ton of cold germs and I barely know my own name. Still I’m off to Amsterdam for a few days in a couple of weeks which stops me getting too down.
How are my fellow picklers coping with the winter blues or are you all too chirpy to plumb such depths?
Usual stuff below, preferably funny.

i know what you mean..all that rain and win d which renders these little umbrellas completely useless. and i’m so short, big umbrellas are about the same height as me.

hello! completely nasty weather…
Foul and sleety, unfortunately the dog (Jack Russell Lakeland cross)can’t see anything wrong with it and insists on her full measure of walkies.
I may well be the only person here to enjoy this, but I’ll post it anyway, they’re lovely people and just live up the road.

I have been cold for weeks. Being in Kathmandu, I am going to work with layers and layers, there is no heating so our fingers freeze when we type and add to that electricity blackouts. Hmm. I am told the fog is yet to come. Give me a british winter anytime!
Was waiting for this thread to share this with you guys… enjoy!

Proof that campaigns on facebook work.
Recently single (again), I started up a facebook thread to help furnish my gaping house and I’ve walked away with two TVs, a brand new stereo, tables, lamps, digi box, uplighter (whatever the fuck that is), cabinet and DVD player.
I think I’ll start a Find Me A Girlfriend That Can Put Up With Me campaign next
Any takers?
halima – i know what you mean! last xmas, i was in darjeeling and we were frozen, and there i was thinking, sigh for a british winter and central heating!
But you had lovely snow cap mountains to look at I hope!
yes it was worth the pain! and on my return, the London winter seemed very mild by comparison, which is always a good thing.
might take a long walk there in the spring then when the flowers come out.
By the way my LSE friend couldn’t hckle Bose, he was leaving for Dhaka that day.
