Rohin, looking forward to the sports thread. Hey, cycling is excellent cardio, but as you say, might be good to supplement with some bone stregthening and muscle building exercises…perhaps get off your bike every time you see something reasonably heavy that can be lifted (eg: (large dogs, small people) and give 10 reps. Another way of building up the muscles is to take a bit of creatine. This gives more strength but it also makes the muscles hold on to more water so you get bulked up pretty quick. Of course, stop taking it and the water mass disappears..but keep taking it and you make end up as a Creatine based Frankenstein! Bah.

Sunny Jim, I hear these calls for Ealing but it’s going to take certain folks some 2 hours to drive there. Let’s see, if these people don’t want some action next week we can pile it in. Otherwise, Stanmore it is, or indeed another excellent Par 3 course in Hendon, but this is even further north!

Riz, did I say I was lazy? I meant I’m your second category, yes yes too busy to be at the gym. THAT’S what I meant. You know, I might get a personal trainer. That’s one way I may finally do something. I’m fit – don’t get me wrong there, got my resting pulse down to 50 with all my cycling – but I’ve lost weight and I’m too skinny. Need to pump some weights. Or inject that oil into my muscles. Or take loads of drugs.

I’m planning another sports thread, but I have to get to bed and wake up early to fit the new saddle. The thread will be posted tomorrow.
