For those that enjoy Skins. Great quote from Anwar’s Muslim dad when his mate confesses he’s gay before entering Anwar’s birthday party. I’m gonna paraphrase:

“I have my God and there are many things He does that I don’t understand and I have the belief that one day He will explain it to me. In the meantime, I’m not going to worry about things I don’t understand. Can I get you a drink?”

Our dads aren’t like that. But I reckon we’ll be like that when it comes to our kids

i live in the US and the religious wingnuts are a frightening bunch of humaniods. they are rewriting our history in books for “homeschoolers” to use — so they are perpetuating the myth that the US was founded on “christian principles.” yeah, right. they keep saying we are a christian nation.

We do have Enlightenment values, last time I looked. Enlightenment values do not excuse this shit. It has nothing to do with colour, or religion. It is to do with rejecting Enlightenment.

Locally, we had a swimming pool closure, where the final act – allegedly – included bags of urine being thrown. This seems to be becoming all too prevelant.

Jimmy Boyles ‘dirty protest’ seems to be hitting the mainstream.

This is no way to act, is it.

Could you not have put a health warning on the link to the Watchmen piece of shit? I am a sensitive atheist and should not be exposed to this sort of stuff. I see their writings do not allow comments. Not much of a surprise there really, it being, obviously the word of god speaking through some human vessel. Ugly looking vessel, right enough.
