Did anyone see Shoaib Malik’s speech after the match? He apologised to the people of Pakistan and Muslims all around the world for losing! All the Muslims no less, what an idiot! He thought he was playing for the Ummah versus India, what a moron!

Weldone India. I don’t think many people fancied India’s chances of winning this tournament before it started. I thought India played outstandingly against Australia and South Africa. The final could have gone either way but the luck was on India’s side. India have got some talented youngsters.

What a victory…India showed sheer power, class and exuberance but in the final they have to slug it out in a way they didn’t have to do in the earlier games. 157 was always about 15-20 below par and Misbah almost pulled it off.

Tendulkar has said that Indian cricket is in safe hands and he is right, Rohit Sharma and Gambhir showed real bottle and no little quality in giving India a decent score and the returns of Bhaju, Sehwag and Pathan all bodes well and its hard to see who to drop for the series against Oz, I would bring in Dravid and Powar but am very hesitant to drop anyone else from this team !

RP Singh was a revelation as well.

Elated yay yay yay….20/20 is so much more exciting than the usual world cup (which is overhyped and boring…with far too much money involved)…this was what cricket is meant to be..am happy India won over Pakistan..had to rub it in since my husband’s family kept saying that Pakistan would win..ha bloddy ha…

Elated – yes – but more a feeling of relief, sigh – I thought we were going to lose it in that last over.

I can see why twenty20 is a young man’s game – the quick decision making, and hyper concentration needed at all times through out the game as it can turn from distaster to victory in 3 balls. Not for old minds.

I know the stoke play of the batsmen lacks the certain beauty of Mohammed Azzarudin , so twenty20 is not art, but it is exciting and the tactical play of the bowlers is far more intense and concentrated. Each ball has to be considered – no lazy bowling will do in the future.

If the 2 teams are very good, it can be like watching a test match in hyperdrive, but for middling standard teams it could just be a game of chance.

Jagdeep – I started by having a bottle for tests, then ODI came along and I could still just concentrate on the match – but at 3hrs I’ve just realised Twenty20 is just too quick and so I think I will have to drink chocolate milkshakes – this is the fast food of cricket – yummy – flamegrilled Burger King matches.

20 – 20 is an incredible game, it’s so fast, intense and exciting with loads of sixes and boundaries that it will appeal to anyone who doesn’t usually like cricket!

And India knocking Australia out at the semis was sweet too!
