"If you’re referring to the one with Mr Subramaniam the master violinist then no, although I saw the adverts for it on some of the Asian satellite/cable channels."

Yes, that's the one. It started at 4:00PM and finished after 11:00PM. It is a pity that Anoushka and Ravi Shankar (who is 87!) only appeared in the last two hours.

Anoushka is very cute and talented .

Ravi,

Did anyone attend Ravi/Anoushka Shankar’s concert today at the Royal Festival Hall?

If you're referring to the one with Mr Subramaniam the master violinist then no, although I saw the adverts for it on some of the Asian satellite/cable channels. Looked pretty mindblowing. I love that kind of stuff.

Kismet,

Woman in Red definitely

But then I am a fat bald 35-year-old

I'm neither fat nor bald, but as a 34-year-old I can remember being totally blown away by Ms LeBrock's gorgeousness when I saw "Woman in Red" on TV as a teenager. I know you know what I mean ;)

Angelina is basically a 2007-version of Kelly in terms of overall jaw-dropping hotness, I think.

"I laughed out loud from start to finish for half an hour each episode and I got a stitch in my side from laughing so much. It’s the greatest comedy show ever made."

I find it has good moments, but it is repetitive and it is getting quite predictable. And some scenes remind me of Seinfeld... which is not a bad thing. :)

Okay Picklers, here's a spot quiz for you. The question that's been haunting Man since the dawn of time. The question that keeps normally sane individuals wide awake at night, minds in turmoil, hearts racing. The question on which the future of Western civilisation itself may hang in the balance.

Who's hotter -- Kelly LeBrock during her "Woman in Red" era, or Angelina Jolie ?

Jagdeep,
I've seen the first two episodes of CYE and they are hysterical, particularly the second.

Rumbold,
No need to apologise, I was just giving your post room to breathe!

Did anyone attend Ravi/Anoushka Shankar's concert today at the Royal Festival Hall? It was awesome. There is something majestic about the sitar, and Anoushka and her father do wonders with the instrument.

Sorry, but if that's a list of the 100 most influential supposed "leftists" in Britain, then the term "left" has been drained of all meaning and is now a completely empty meaningless word. I'm surprised David Cameron isn't in the top 10.

72. SUNNY HUNDAL Blogger, PickledPolitics.com

There are few left of centre bloggers who could be described as ‘influential’. Sunny Hundal is one. His site specialises in discussing ethnic issues, but is increasingly reaching out to wider issues on the left. He’s an eloquent media performer and the very antithesis of the stereotype ranting blogger.

++++

F**kin' hell Sunny, you're more powerful than Tony Benn, Norman Geras and Gerry Adams. 'Ethnic issues', innit.

Sorry about that Clairwil- I will think next time.

Iain Dale has complied a list of the 100 most important figures on the British left:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2007/09/23/nleft223.xml&page=3

Go straight to number 72, who ranks above Tony Benn and Michael Foot. How times change.

This is quite a funny music video for one of Akshay Kumar's forthcoming films. Parts of it are shot like an MTV rap video. Has a catchy hook, I think.

http://www.indiafm.com/broadband/video/Movie-Promos/NOK8rP82/1/Bhool-Bhulaiyaa-Bhool-Bhulaiyaa.html

Indian music vids have become increasingly racy during the past few years, I've noticed. There's a lot of booty-shaking that wouldn't have been acceptable until relatively recently (including in the video linked to above). I wonder if the easy access that Indians in the motherland have to American MTV vids on satellite/cable has a lot to do with people becoming more used to all that, generally speaking.

By the way, for non-Asian Picklers who don't know, Akshay Kumar was the major ex-boyfriend Shilpa Shetty was referring to during her stint on CBB. Crusty ol' Dirk Benedict had quite a studly rival to compete against, in terms of "the ghost of boyfriends past" ;)
