Ugh. Nothing to criticise in a bit of litter-picking, but couldn’t they call it something else that doesn’t have the unfortunate associations with murder, hate and religious bigotry that ‘jihad’ does?

Birmingham doesn’t do much landfill, they have a “Power from Waste” facility at Tyseley which deals with a lot of their rubbish. I think they only landfill less than 20% of their waste.

It’s a very, very good idea in an area that badly needs such ideas. All power to their elbows and they will need it.
