I think Sunny should be careful in letting others define what Pickled Politics is all about. I would hate if this forum became a partisan site for all that bananabrain has said in #84. Much of the strength of this blog comes from its diverse opinions, and people from different backgrounds. And I think “brown issues” is different from “brown agenda”… the latter smells of conspiracy, like we had the same goals and ideology because, you know, we are brown.

My wife and I were going to the beach a few weeks ago, and my mother-in-law told us “The sun is wonderful today, hope you get a nice tan”. I smiled at her, and said, “well, that’s something you didn’t hear in my side of family”. She was puzzled, but then she said that people with dark-skin who live in places like Europe need to get all the sun they can get, since they are less capable of synthesising vitamin-D through their skin. And according to her, it is very important.

Once again, Kizzie comes through with compelling insight. Maybe it might help if the focus of the site was something less divisive than politics and it was renamed something more ambivalent, like Pickled Gherkin.
