More massacres in Syria

As protests in Syria continue, the Syrian state is reacting in its usual bloodthirsty way by killing scores more people:

Dozens of people have been shot dead by Syrian security forces, activists claim, as tens of thousands took part in anti-government rallies dubbed a “day of rage”.

Activists said at least 50 protesters were killed across the country on Friday, although Al Jazeera cannot independently verify the death toll.

At least 15 people were reported killed near Deraa where security forces fired on thousands of protesters trying to enter the besieged southern city, sources told Al Jazeera’s Rula Amin.

DaveM has a good overview of the situation.

News today has it that they’ve just assassinated Gaddafi’s son and grandkids in the cause of “protecting innocent civilians”.

It’s remarkable what ends they will go to to protect them in Libya as opposed to, say, Afghanistan or Iraq…

assad shows his true face as if no one knew what he was just another brutal dictator in the middle east who needs to be removed asap!

Pity the western governments don’t condemn the israeli regime, when it murdered a family including women and children few days ago???

I suppose the deaths of the Palestinians are roughly comparable to the deaths of the gandchildren in Libya – rather than to what Assad is doing.

The deaths of the Palestinians (though I’m not sure if I am thinking of the precise same case) seem more comparable to the deaths of the grandchildren in Libya than to what Assad has been presiding over.
