I didn’t think that the alliance between some elements of the far left and militant Islamic groups was news.

Refresh – of course it does. If you sympathise with their cause then they’re freedom fighters. If you don’t agree with it then they’re terrorists.

But I’m 100% out of this thread now. I really cannot face an endless wrangle over WHICH far left groups and WHICH ideologies and WHICH freedom fighters and WHICH terrorists. I said FAR left, not left generally, and I didn’t mean to imply that all left-wingers whether far, near, middle, pink or green are supporters of terrorist activity.

Er, ok. But what groups/ideology did you have in mind? I think its important to be precise than make vague/generalised assertions like you did.
