Refugee rights and responsibilities

Posted By Sunny On 25th June, 2007 @ 2:09 pm In Civil liberties | Comments Disabled

The Information Centre for Asylum and Refugees’ (ICAR) [1] rights and responsibilities project is addressing how the particular experiences and legal status of refugees affects their own understanding and perception of their rights and responsibilities in the UK.

As the final part of a four-stage consultation, an interactive online forum has [2] been launched with a commentary by Gareth Morrell, the project researcher. This forum addresses the policy implications arising from the discussions in the previous consultations and asks where the rights and responsibilities of refugees fit into the wider policy context of integration and cohesion.

Please read the commentary [3] here and add your own thoughts and comments on the issues raised by the project.

OT — this is a message for arnia. I’ve been away for the last couple of days and so only just read the thread discussing the Sikh Awareness Society in Birmingham and because the thread was closed couldnt post there.

Arnia — this is what the mobile phone video camera (amongst other things) was invented for. Get Mohan Singh on camera making his speeches, give the evidence to the police, and if he has violated laws inciting hatred he can face the law. They lock up hatemongers these days and if he has been violating the law he can face up to the prospect of a few years bending over for the soap in showers very cautiously in Winson Green Prison.

If the police don’t respond positively a visit to a local MP would be in order, or a media outlet who might like to follow a very interesting story indeed. At least make the authorities aware of the ‘SAS’ and their activities. We don’t have to put up with this crap from anyone anymore.
