It was the usual material, apart from the possibly unsurpassed claim that her Salford constituents were worried about immigration because

“they are not abiding by health and safety.”

Presumably, down her local they all sit around complaining that those immigrants had failed to take heed of health and safety regulation 47, subsection 9, paragraph 4 (to do with having a properly-trained door opener in each office). The good burghers of Salford then went on to discuss how much they liked EU legislation, before suggesting that top footballers and Steve Maclaren should get a lot more money.

i echo leon. i don’t think any party would have me – if they had a single brain cell they’d realise there was no way i’d toe the party line – they like conformists, they don’t want any free-thinkers!and of course i don’t want to have anything to do with a ‘party’ – it would be such a total nightmare, i can’t think of anything worse – perhaps becoming a Wahhabi and planning world domination or something.

interesting how there are many ‘groups’ of people who are potential voting ‘blocks’. e.g. commonwealth citizens – all the young aussies in town, etc.

I’m more of a behind the scenes kinda guy (heh I’ve this picture of people thinking ‘yeah like that smoking guy out of X Files’!) really.

That said, if the mixed race demographic became a serious voting block…

I too got the Blackadder email – no mention of the biggest failure of any administration – asking to support Jon Cruddas.

Yes support him by all means, join a union – you don’t need to be a party hack. You’ll still get a vote (maybe a bit late this time of course).

Some very good additional reasons why to vote Cruddas there too. Hei anti-BNP, anti-racism stance is exactly what the Labour Party needs in a Deputy and his working class politics is just what the country needs.

I hope that should Cruddas gain the Deputy position, or even if he doesn’t, you might be tempted to join the party. It’s progressive people like yourself that we need more of amongst our ranks if we are to move forward and make a real difference both home and abroad.
