Anjem Choudhary and mates behind ‘xmas is evil’ stunt

The Daily Mail has found the ‘war on Christmas by Muslims‘ it always wanted. The news report is practically salivating at their amazing find. I went to www.xmasisevil.com – it doesn’t work but redirects to islamicrevival2010.com – run by Al-Muhajiroun / Islam4UK.

Just to be clear, all Anjem Choudhary and his mates needed to do was set up a blog, put up a few posters, send the pictures and link to the Daily Mail. Job done
via @mjrobbins

Update: Oh look, Labour MP Jim Fitzpatrick has also demanded they be ripped down. Now, I don’t really care for stunts etc, but when will it occur to this obnoxious MP that the best strategy is to ignore these idiots rather than fuelling tabloid rage / extremist stunts?

Update 2 The Daily Mail has also recycled its ’40% of British Muslims want Sharia and to kill us all’ story from 2008. Martin Robbins has dissected the dishonest way it’s reported.

    It’ll never occur to him.

    He’d rather make a name for himself…

Now that’s a surprise. Extremist dangles bait, Baily Mail bites. Both get hat they want.

    A grotesque symbiosis.

    Edit button. Please.

Although they may have wanted a hat for christmas. Wouldn’t mind a snap-brimmed fedora myself.

I don’t agree. If the BNP were creating a stunt for Christmas, the MP and media would speak out just the same, and the comments on here would echo their disgust.

Terrorist supporters should not be treated differently, just because they are muslims.

The fact that the media and other MPs are almost silent, speaks volumes about who they dare and dare not condemn.

The same thing will apply to commentators on here. They’ll condemn the MP and DM. They wouldn’t, if the post was about the BNP – or even the EDL.

Equal treatment works both ways. Or it should.

MP fitzpatrick should know better than giving these clowns the attention they want. Then again this the same MP who made a mountain out of a molehill on muslim weddings. So is he as niave as we think i have some doubts.

. If the BNP were creating a stunt for Christmas

Actually most of the media ignores a lot of what the BNP does.

That aside – the BNP and even the EDL are far bigger than these lot… they number about 40 twats.

On the Daily Mail site at 7.20pm on wednesday there are no readers comments yet.
    So fire your comments in.
Though I guess that most of them would end up with the red thumbs down symbol.

It doesn’t work with the tune of 12 Days of Christmas. Rubbish!

Annie Lennox has released good versions of Christmas sonts.

    ha ha cheers for posting!

Slicker web design than the Daily Mail. But why do you have to get an STD, in debt, raped, pregnant followed by an abortion before you can go raving?

Merry festivus infidels! Burn in hell!

I have long thought that Anjem and co. might be government stooges. For one thing, when Al-Muhajiroun was banned it disappeared without trace, which is not what you would expect of an any organisation, let alone a political outfit.

Ignoring this whole distatesteful campaign I’ve been thinking about xmas. Its supposed to be a religious festival but is that really the case? More and more people in britain are either aethiests or agnostic. xmas today, although a festive occasion and an opportunity for families to get together, has nothing to do with religion and more to do with consumerism. Parents like myself who have very little money are coerced into buying presents for kids and grandkids and these days they want more and more expensive gifts like an ipad, wii etc. I don’t think xmas is evil but it has been hijacked by the corporations to make sure we keep on spending regardless of whether we have the money. I think we need to have a good look at what xmas has become. Merry xmas.

merry resistance and a decolonial new year

  19. dave bones — on 23rd December, 2010 at 12:30 pm

a bit of yuletide history is required obviously-

Joanne – Al-Muhajiroun didn’t get banned. They changed their name to Islam4UK and then they only got banned very recently.

Sid- The original Xmas festivities were totally about drinking and making merry and giving presents. Was it called consumerism in the middle ages? Religious people hijacked these festivities which pre dated them to con the peasants into subjecting themselves to the power of church and state.

Not sure what to make of all this or who to blame anymore, but I hope people enjoy this festivus and find something worthwhile to do with their time in the New Year.

  20. Sarah AB — on 23rd December, 2010 at 1:59 pm

As an atheist I suppose I celebrate Christmas in a ‘secular’ way – but it’s not simply a choice between religion and consumerism. Presents are exciting for children – and even then it’s as much about the ritual of hanging out the stockings as it is about getting lots of expensive stuff – and more important is being with the family, Christmas trees and lights, Christmas music and food. (Not very high minded perhaps, apart from some of the music, but not all that consumerist either.)

  21. dave bones — on 23rd December, 2010 at 5:50 pm

I think that is as high a mind as you need. At least until the kids have gone to bed. X

I recently came across AC’s own blog, but now cannot find it. Has anyone got a link?

Christmas actually occurs around the end of September. Sheep aren’t out in the fields with shepherds in late December.

    The Lord giveth
    and the government taketh away.
Blessed be the name of the Lord.

    ISamuel 8:9-19
