Looking forward to some observations on the political situation.
Next summers election i Turkey is one of the most important elections
in this decade in our part of the world.
If there is anything real news in wikileaks, then it is the americans
distinct ‘front/back’ view on Turkey, AKP and Erdogan.
And of course enjoy the very special city.

Having walked about the neighbourhoods of Istanbul for a week about seven years ago, one question I’d like answered is how is it for the large Kurdiah minority living there. Are Turkish cities places Kurdish asylum seekers can actually go?

Also when I was there, I remember talking to some of the black African guys who sold watches and socks out of suitcases - and I guessed were on journeys to westen Europe. They told me they faced serious harrasment from the police - who sometimes demanded watches and bribes to leave them alone, and from general racism when looking for lodging etc.

Sunny, are you accepted as being from England like I was when I was asked so often?
”Lovely Jubbly” they used to announce for some reason when I told them I was from England.

Thanks mate - that’s all we need to hear when we are covered in snow.

      Have a wicked time.
