El Cid, you miss the point of both the Capitan and Black Lace. They take shiteness to new levels, where it metamorphosises from a maggot to a slug and becomes a true art form all of it's own.

Mind, it's still a hit and miss business - Bicho malo pille is a fine example of how to get it right as is Black Lace. Whereas the Baile de los pajaritos is not and needs a damn good gassing.

*la bar-ba-coa, la barbacoa* Yeah man, groove on down and don't diss the Dann.

The written word can look more angry than it really is. Simmer down na!
Capitan Canalla is shite in the same way that .. er Black Lace is shite (altogether now.. ah-gah-doo, doo, doo, push pineapple, shake the tree, agadoo-doo-doo, push pineapple, grind coffee)

El Cid - Tio, you need to lighten up a bit. Less stiff upper lip?

How about Alazan - Amarrado a mi cintura?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IROAraFtB6A

For real music though you want the Spicy Shaker version by Julien Carrera. Now this took some finding, so watch it. Though um, I don't think the vid is original. I'm tired of looking a thread-braking buffoon so the URL is in two parts, and shouldn't require the brains of an archbishop to work out. Let's do it:

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid
=587921262932135366&q=bf1942+big+attack&hl=en

And have some Ritmo de la Noche for good measure:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I5KLg2FmX-0

Just fantastic. Kismet needs to see 'em, too.

Chairwoman Auntie,

=>"Hi Jai, How’s the new job?"

Demanding, but luckily I have a knack for my particular role so I'm enjoying the work. Most of the people are okay, although there are some stereotypical Essex chav types in the more low-level back office functions who don't seem to be too amenable towards Asians (at least those who are in the more senior/prestigious areas of the industry), but fortunately my contact with them is fairly limited. It's balanced by the large number of intelligent, professional types who aren't threatened by successful Asians, luckily.

Depending on which part of the organisation we're talking about, there is a tendency for some people to be very loud and opinionated. A lot of cockiness and bluff'n'bluster. But there are plenty of calmer, civilised people around too. Generally-speaking, I think you need to be fairly assertive and strong-minded to work in the City, because there's a lot of aggressive and ambitious folk around who sometimes create a lot of unnecessary friction and office politics.

Nevertheless, the location's quite glitzy and glamorous anyway, and it's an exciting industry to work in -- financially and professionally the prospects can be outstanding. Some parts of these buildings can literally be like 5-Star hotels inside too -- all very plush and luxurious.

Thank you very much for asking, it's really nice of you :)

*Chairwoman, avert your eyes now*

To everyone else,

Guys, there are a huge number of insanely hot women working in the City ! They're everywhere. The industry seems to attract a disproportionate number of foxy, strutting, leggy glamorous types. If you've ever been in the area during the weekdays (during working hours) then you'll know what I mean.

Not that there's anything wrong with that, of course.....

Scottish hip-hop...that clip nearly put me in a trance.

William - I tried the link to relieve my stress, but it crashed my browser, so my stress went up even more!

Happy to see there are other fans of Iannucci's surreal brain. From Armando's latest article 'Never fear, Britons - your civil liberties are safe with us':

Tony Blair: "Today, I am launching a jihad against snide rumour-mongering."
